  Your Toshiba Air Conditioner might be turning on and off rapidly because of a dirty air filter restricting airflow (clean the air filter). Another reason might be extremely hot outside temperatures, in which case you should set the FAN speed to a higher setting to increase airflow past the cooling coils.

Please, refer to the Care and Cleaning section for instructions. * Lower the temperature setting. * Adjust the air directional louvers for improved air distribution. * Remove any obstructions like drapes, blinds, or furniture from the front of the unit. * Close any open doors, windows, or registers. * If the unit was recently turned on in a hot room, allow extra time for the unit to remove stored heat from the surroundings.

  If your Toshiba Air Conditioner is cooling, but the room is too warm and ice is forming on the cooling coil, consider the following: * If the outdoor temperature is below 64°F (18°C), this may be the cause. * Clean the air filter. Please, refer to the Care and Cleaning section. * If the thermostat is set too cold for night-time cooling, increase the temperature setting. * To defrost the coil, set the unit to FAN ONLY mode.

  If the air from your Toshiba Air Conditioner doesn't feel cold enough, consider the following: * Cooling may not occur until the room temperature rises above 62°F (17°C) if the room temperature is below this. * Straighten the temperature sensing element tube away from the cold coil located behind the air filter if it's touching it. * Reset to a lower temperature. * If the compressor shut off by changing modes, wait approximately 3 minutes and listen for the compressor to restart when set in the COOL mode.
