7. INSTALL OIL PUMP
(a) Remove any old packing (FIPG) material and be care–
fuI not to drop any oil on the contact surfaces of the
oil pump and cylinder block.
• Using a razor blade and gasket scraper, remove
all the old packing (FIPG) material from the
gasket surfaces and sealing grooves.
• Thoroughly clean all components to remove all
the loose material.
• Using a non–residue solvent, clean both sealing
surfaces.
5. INSTALL OIL FILTER UNION
Using a 12 mm hexagon wrench, install the oil filter
union.
Torque: 13 N–m (130 kgf–cm, 9 ft–lbf)
(b) Lightly screw the oil filter into place, and tighten it
until the gasket contacts the seat.
(c) Using SST, tighten it an additional 3/4 turn.

6. INSTALL OIL FILTER
(a) Apply clean engine oil to the gasket of anew oil filter.
