2 . REPLACE MENT OF Oil PUMP SEA L
If the oil pump wa s r em ove d f rom th e cy li nder bl oc k :
(al Us ing a screwdriver, pry off the oil seal.
(bl Apply MP grease to a new oil seal.
{c) Using a socket wrenc h and hammer, drive in a new
oi l seal to the depth of 1 mm (0.04 inJ from the oil
pump body edge.
If t he o il pu m p was not removed from t he cyli n der
block:
(a) Using a knife, cut off the oil seal lip.
(b) Using a screwdriver, pry off the oil seal.
CAU TIO N : Ta p the screw driver t ip an d b e care ful not
to damage the drive shaft.
(c) Apply MP grease to a new oil seal.
(d) Using a socket wrench and hamme r, drive in a new
oil seal to the depth of 1 mm (0.04 in.I from the oil
pump body edge .
3. REPLACE M ENT OF CRANKSHA FT REAR OIL SEAL
If the rear oi l seal retaine r was re m ove d fr om t he
cylinder block:
(a) Using a screwdriver and hammer, drive out the oil
seal.

(bl App ly MP grease t o a new oil seal.
(cl Using SST and a hammer, drive in a new oil seal until
its surface is flush wit h the rear oil seal retaine r edge.

If t he rear oil sea l retainer was not remo ved from the
cy lin de r block :
(al Using a knife, cut off the oil seal lip.
lb) Using a screwdriver, pry out the oil seal.
CA UT ION : Tape the screwd ri ver ti p and be carefu l
not to damage the cranks haft.
(c) Apply MP grease to a new oil seal.
(d) Using SST and a hammer, drive in the oil seal until its
surface is flush with the rear oil seal retainer edge.
