How to fix a T+A Stereo Receiver that won't turn on?
    • S
      Sarah WilsonAug 18, 2025
If your T+A Stereo Receiver does not switch on and the LED stays dark, the issue might be with the mains lead. Check that the mains lead is correctly plugged in and plugged in firmly.

What to do if LEDs are flashing and there is no sound from my T+A R 1260 R?
    • D
      dunnjustinAug 21, 2025
If there's no output signal from the loudspeakers and the LEDs over the buttons are flashing alternately, it indicates that the protection circuit has been tripped. This could be due to several reasons: * Overheating or excessive levels: Reduce the volume. If the receiver doesn't switch on automatically after about 20 seconds, let it cool off for a few minutes. * Short circuit in the loudspeaker cables: Inspect the speaker leads and terminals. Twist any loose wire ends together neatly and replace any damaged cables. * Excessive levels due to poor earth contact: Unplug the input lead and wait to see if the receiver switches on again automatically. If it does, check and replace the input leads as necessary.

Why does my T+A Stereo Receiver turn off when the volume is high?
    • L
      Lisa Keller MDAug 26, 2025
If your T+A Stereo Receiver switches off repeatedly when the volume is very high, it could be due to: * Overheating caused by poor ventilation: Make sure there are no obstructions blocking ventilation. * Overheating caused by inadequate loudspeaker impedance: Ensure the impedance of each speaker is not lower than 4 Ω (DIN rating – an impedance minimum >3.2 Ω).

Why can't my T+A R 1260 R Stereo Receiver pick up many radio stations?
    • S
      smithadamAug 28, 2025
If your T+A Stereo Receiver operates normally but picks up very few or no stations, the issue might be with the antenna system or antenna cable. Check the antenna lead for good contact at the antenna socket (at the wall) and at the back of the receiver. Make sure the antenna cable isn't damaged or sharply bent. If needed, replace the cable. Try using the trailing antenna that came with the receiver as a test. If reception improves significantly, consider consulting an expert antenna technician to inspect your antenna system.

Why is the RDS station name not showing on my T+A Stereo Receiver?
    • D
      David GriffinAug 31, 2025
If the RDS station name does not appear on the display of your T+A Stereo Receiver, it could be due to a few reasons: * The station might not be broadcasting RDS information. * The tuner may not be accurately tuned to the station. In this case, carefully tune in the station, ensuring the tuning indicator is in the center position. * Poor reception, severe interference, or low signal strength could also be the cause. Try selecting only those stations that can be received with a strong, clear signal.

How to eliminate whistling noises from my T+A R 1260 R Stereo Receiver speakers?
    • C
      Christina MelendezSep 3, 2025
If you are experiencing whistling or whispering noises from the speakers connected to your T+A Stereo Receiver, it may be caused by the antenna lead being routed too close to a mains, remote control, or signal cable. To resolve this, move the leads so that they are spaced well apart. You can also try using a domestic (loft or outside) antenna or a cable connection.

Why does my T+A R 1260 R Stereo Receiver sound flat?
    • M
      Michele KerrSep 7, 2025
If you're experiencing a flat sound image and insufficient bass response with your T+A Stereo Receiver, the loudspeaker cables might not be connected 'in phase'. Refer to the wiring diagram and carefully check the connections between the loudspeaker leads and the speakers, as well as the speaker terminals on the receiver. Correct any incorrect connections.

What to do if my T+A Stereo Receiver is not responding to the remote control?
    • B
      Brenda WilliamsNov 13, 2025
If your T+A Stereo Receiver responds to button presses on the unit itself but not to the remote control, there are several potential causes. First, the batteries in the remote control might be inserted incorrectly or discharged. Replace the batteries, making sure they are correctly inserted. Second, the infrared sensor may be connected incorrectly, or the plug may not be fully inserted into the unit's RC-IN socket. Check the wiring diagram to ensure the connections are correct and push the plug in firmly. Finally, the infrared sensor's position might be inefficient. Ensure there is a direct line of sight between the remote control transmitter and the sensor, keeping in mind that glass doors can interfere with the signal. The maximum range is approximately 8 meters. Also, position the recei...
