Bi-Wiring
The term Bi-Wiring refers to a method of connecting
loudspeakers using separate speaker leads for the
bass signals and for the mid-range/ high frequency
signals.
Bi-Wiring can only be implemented if the loudspeaker
is fitted with a Bi-Wiring terminal. At the loudspeaker
terminal it is essential that the jumpers or links
between the bass and mid-range / high frequency
channel are removed.
As the wiring diagram shows, bi-wiring allows you to
use the optimum cable for each frequency range.

information on this subject.
Bi-Amping
The term Bi-Amping refers to the use of two power
amplifiers, which obviously must be an accurate
match to each other, i.e. amplification factor, phase
response and absolute phase must be identical.
In a Bi-Amping system the signals for the bass and
mid- / high frequency ranges are separated before
the power-amplifier, and are passed separately to
the loudspeaker.
This mode of operation increases the power
reserves, which in turn has a very positive effect on
the overall dynamics of the system. For a given
volume each individual amplifier is required to
produce lower power.
This in turn reduces intermodulation effects and
distortion. The result is improved resolution and
fidelity, and better spatial imaging.
The wiring example shows a combination of receiver
and A 1260 R power amplifier, which are particularly
well suited to this mode of operation. At the loud-
speaker terminal it is essential that the jumpers or
links between the bass and mid-range / high fre-
quency channel are removed.
