4.2 Harness
User must wear a certified ladder climbing
harness chest (to be connected to the fall
arrest system), and one at the waist (for the
belt grab of the Tractelift™ Type II).
Canada - CSA Class AL, US - ANSI Z239
EU directive 89/686/CEE.
Harnesses are availble from Tractel
®
that
provide the recommended upper and lower
D-rings for connecting to the Tractelift™
climbing system. Contact Tractel
®
for details.
4.3 Fall arrest system
Protection against fall is provided by the
fall arrest system only, and not by the
Tractelift™ Type II. The fall arrest system
is a part of the vertical ladder and not of the
Tractelift™ Type II.
As an example, Fig. 5b shows Tractel
®
Stopcable
®
Ladder Safety System attached
to a typical ladder. This system provides a
wire rope with integrated shock absorber
and wire rope grab connected to your
harness as your fall arrest system.
