Why is my Trane TZEMT524AA21MA display not turning on?
    • B
      Benjamin MckenzieAug 19, 2025
The display might not come on due to a loss of 24VAC between R & C at the control. To resolve this: * Check the wiring between R & C. * Check the transformer for 24VAC output. * Check for a broken or shorted thermostat wire.

Why is my Trane TZEMT524AA21MA cooling not turning on?
    • M
      Mitchell DanielAug 21, 2025
Cooling might not activate because: 1. The system mode isn't set to Cool/Auto, or the setpoint is too high. Correct this by selecting the right mode and lowering the setpoint. 2. The delta “On” for cooling is too high. Adjust the delta “On” setting for cooling mode. 3. The minimum off time delay is in effect. If it's bothersome, reduce the minimum off time delay (the lowest setting is 5 minutes). 4. The cooling system may require maintenance. You should check and repair the system.

Why is my Trane TZEMT524AA21MA Temperature Controller heating not turning on?
    • A
      Ashlee WestAug 25, 2025
Heating might not turn on due to several reasons: 1. The system mode isn't set to Heat/Auto, or the setpoint is too low. Select the correct mode and/or raise the setpoint. 2. The delta “On” for heating is too high. Adjust the delta “On” setting for heating mode. 3. The minimum off time delay is active. If this is an issue, lower the minimum off time delay (the lowest setting is 5 minutes). 4. The heating system might need service. In that case, check and repair the system.

What to do if my Trane TZEMT524AA21MA Temperature Controller fan runs all the time?
    • A
      Alexandria KellerAug 26, 2025
If the fan runs constantly, it could be because: 1. The fan mode is set to “On” or “Circ”. If this is not what you want, change the fan mode to “Auto”. 2. The system is not operating correctly, in that case, check and repair the system.

    Justin HarrisonAug 28, 2025
What to do if my Trane TZEMT524AA21MA is cooling when it should be heating, or heating when it should be cooling?
    • G
      Gregory GarciaAug 28, 2025
If your system is cooling when it should be heating, or vice versa, the 'Energize Reversing Valve' setting might be reversed. To fix this, go to Installer Settings, then Equipment Type, then Energize Reversing Valve. If it's set to 'With Cool,' change it to 'With Heat,' and if it's set to 'With Heat,' change it to 'With Cool'.

What to do if my Trane TZEMT524AA21MA shows heating or cooling, but no air is coming from the vents?
    • E
      Erica DiazSep 1, 2025
If the display indicates heating or cooling but there's no airflow, it might be because: 1. The fan delay time hasn't finished. Wait one minute for the blower delay to end, then check the registers/grills again. 2. The system isn't working right. Check and repair the system.

Why is the indoor temperature display incorrect on my Trane TZEMT524AA21MA Temperature Controller?
    • P
      piercecarolSep 4, 2025
An incorrect indoor temperature display can be due to: 1. The indoor temperature display needs calibration. Always wait one hour after any power cycle before calibrating. 2. Heat from the touchscreen is trapped inside the control. Relocate the control away from air sources or redirect the air sources away from it.

    Angela CunninghamSep 6, 2025
Why does the room temperature overshoot the desired setpoint in cooling mode on my Trane Temperature Controller?
    • K
      Kyle AllenSep 6, 2025
The room temperature might overshoot in cooling mode because: 1. The delta “Off” in cooling mode is set to a negative number. This is intended operation, but if it's a problem, change the delta “Off” to 0 degrees. 2. The minimum compressor on time hasn't been met. This is also intended operation, but if it's bothersome, lower the minimum on time (the lowest available setting is 3 minutes).

Why does the room temperature overshoot the desired setpoint in heating mode on my Trane TZEMT524AA21MA Temperature Controller?
    • S
      Stephanie BryantSep 9, 2025
The room temperature might overshoot the setpoint in heating mode because the minimum compressor/indoor heat on time hasn't been met. This is by design. However, if it's bothersome, you can lower the minimum on time, with the lowest setting being 3 minutes.
