Overview

The TRANSTEK Blood Pressure Monitor, Model TMB-1597-G, is a digital monitor designed for non-invasive measurement of blood pressure and heartbeat rate on the upper arm. It is intended for adult indoor use, with an arm circumference ranging from 22 cm to 45 cm. The device utilizes the Oscillometric Measuring method, detecting pressure oscillations generated by beat-to-beat pulsatile to determine systolic and diastolic pressure, as well as pulse rate. Readings obtained by the TMB-1597-G are equivalent to those from a trained observer using the cuff and stethoscope auscultation method.

Function Description:

The TMB-1597-G measures systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate. It features result storage, allowing users to recall past measurements. The monitor is equipped with E-MTC wireless communication for data transmission and incorporates a "3rd technology" that enables measurement during cuff inflation. It also includes an irregular heartbeat detector.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Display: 73mm×49 mm Digital LCD display with blue backlight and white characters.
  • Power Supply:
    • Battery powered mode: 6V DC (4×AA batteries).

  • Measurement Range:
    • Rated cuff pressure: 0mmHg~299mmHg.
    • Measurement pressure: SYS: 60mmHg~230mmHg; DIA: 40mmHg~130mmHg.
    • Pulse value: (40-199) beats/minute.
  • Accuracy:
    • Pressure: ±3mmHg (within 5°C - 40°C).
    • Pulse value: ±5%.
  • Measurement Perimeter of the Upper Arm: About 22cm~45cm.
  • Weight: Approximately 255g (excluding batteries and cuff).

  • Operating Conditions:
    • Temperature: +5°C to +40°C.
    • Relative humidity: 15% to 90% (non-condensing, but not requiring a water vapour partial pressure greater than 50 hPa).
    • Atmospheric pressure: 700 hPa to 1060 hPa.
  • Storage & Transportation Conditions:
    • Temperature: -20°C to +60°C.
    • Relative humidity: ≤ 93% (non-condensing, at a water vapour pressure up to 50hPa).
    • Atmospheric pressure: 700hPa to 1060 hPa.
  • Degree of Protection: Type BF applied part.
  • Protection Against Ingress of Water: IP21 (protected against solid foreign objects of 12.5mm and greater, and against vertically falling water drops).
  • Service Life: Device: two years or 10,000 measurements (whichever comes first). AC adapter: three years. Cuff: 10,000 times.
  • Software Version: A01.

Usage Features:

  • Setting Up: Upon battery insertion or replacement, the device attempts network connection for 5 minutes. A successful connection displays "do nE" and the device turns off after 10 seconds. Failure to connect displays "E6".
  • Cuff Application: The cuff should be tied on the upper arm with the tube off-center towards the inner side, aligned with the little finger or artery mark. It should be snug but allow one finger to be inserted.
  • Measurement Posture: Sit comfortably with the tested arm resting on a flat surface, elbow at heart level, palm upwards. Sit upright, feet flat, back against the chair, and take 5-6 deep breaths before measurement. Avoid talking or moving fingers during measurement.
  • Starting Measurement: Press the "START/STOP" button to initiate the automatic measurement process, which includes adjusting the zero, inflating the cuff, measuring, and displaying results.
  • Stopping Measurement: Press "START/STOP" at any time to stop the measurement.
  • Result Display: Displays systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate. If an irregular heartbeat is detected, the corresponding indicator appears.
  • Data Transmission: After measurement, data transmission begins. Successful transmission makes the "目" and "()" symbols disappear, and "SE nt" is displayed.
  • Recalling Records: When the monitor is off, press the "UP" or "DOWN" button to view records. Records are displayed cyclically (MEM 01-02-03-...-AVG). The date, time, and year of the record are shown alternately.
  • Irregular Heartbeat Detector: The device detects variations in heartbeat rhythm during measurement. If the difference between pulse intervals and their average exceeds certain thresholds, the irregular heartbeat symbol appears.
  • Blood Pressure Classification: The display includes a blood pressure level indicator based on American Heart Association (AHA) categories (Normal, Elevated, High Blood Pressure Stage 1 & 2, Hypertensive Crisis).
  • Error Messages: The device provides error codes (e.g., E1, E2, E3, E4 + OUt, E5, E6, EEx) to indicate issues like low batteries, cuff problems, motion during measurement, out-of-range results, or network/hardware errors.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: Clean the device surface and cuff with a soft, dry cloth. If necessary, use a dampened cloth and neutral detergent. Do not use alcohol, benzene, or other harsh chemicals. Do not wash the cuff in a washing machine or dishwasher.
  • Storage: Store the device, cuff, and adapter in a clean, dry place, protected from extreme moisture, heat, lint, dust, and direct sunlight. Avoid placing heavy objects on it. Ensure the cuff's rubber tube is not squeezed, stretched, or kinked.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery symbol ("+L0") appears, the display is dim, or does not light up. Do not mix new and used batteries or different types. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.
  • Service: No calibration is required within two years. Do not attempt to repair the unit yourself; only authorized service centers should perform repairs. Circuit diagrams, component lists, descriptions, and calibration procedures are available upon request from the manufacturer or distributor. Performance checks are recommended after repair, maintenance, and every two years of use.
  • Cleaning Frequency: For single-patient multiple uses, clean the device surface once a month or as necessary. For multiple users, clean the device before and after each use.
