Cleaning
WARNING: ALWAYS wear protective equipment including eye protection and gloves when
cleaning this tool.
Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly, and
shorten the device’s service life
Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry cloth
Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts. If dry cleaning is not sufficient, a mild
detergent on a damp cloth is recommended
Water must never come into contact with the tool
Ensure the tool is thoroughly dry before using it
If available, use clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes (where
applicable)
Lubrication
Slightly lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals with a suitable spray lubricant
Brushes
Over time the carbon brushes inside the motor may become worn
Excessively worn brushes may cause loss of power, intermittent failure, or visible sparking
1. To replace the carbon brushes remove the Brush Access Screw (15) and carefully pull off
the cover at the rear of the tool
2. Remove the small screw (Image G) and lift the frame that holds the carbon brush up by

3. Push the connector with bare multi-strand copper wire through the frame as you remove
the old worn carbon brush
4. Fit the connector and wire of the new brush through the frame before placing the new
carbon brush into the frame
5. Connect the electrical connector (Image H)
6. Carefully fit the frame back into the recess and secure with the screw
7. Visually check the frame is correctly fitted
8. Repeat steps 2-7 for the other carbon brush
9. Refit the Base Cover (5) and the Brush Access Screw ensuring the mains cable is not caught

11.Run the tool at a slow speed initially and then increase the speed to ensure the tool is
operating correctly
