Pre-Dressed Grindstone (TWSDW)
High-grade grindstone that sharpens steel edges efficiently and reliably. This is a replacement
Grindstone for the existing Grindstone. (See ‘Fitting the Grindstone and Water Trough’ for fitting
instructions.)
Machine Cover (TWSWSC)
Keeps dust and dirt off the Whetstone Sharpener when not in use.
IMPORTANT: Always ensure the Whetstone Sharpener is switched OFF and unplugged before
fitting the machine cover.
Note: Always empty the water from the trough after use. Never leave the Grindstone sitting in
water when not in use.
Clean the Machine Cover by wiping over the outside with a damp cloth dampened with
warm, soapy water
Maintenance
General inspection
Regularly check that all the fixing screws are tight. They may vibrate loose over time
Inspect the supply cord of the tool, prior to each use, for damage or wear. Repairs should
be carried out by an authorised Triton service centre. This advice also applies to extension
cords used with this tool
Cleaning
Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly, and
shorten the machine’s service life. Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry
cloth. If available, use clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes
Grindstone maintenance
Do not use a grindstone that has received a blow, especially to the side of the stone
Replace a cracked or suspect stone immediately
Maintain an even grinding surface. Use the Diamond Truing Tool TWSDTT (available
separately) to restore the grinding stone’s surface when it has become uneven or shows
other signs of wear
See ‘Fitting the grindstone and water trough’ for guidance on fitting a stone
Note: The spindle features a reverse thread: turn clockwise to loosen, anti-clockwise to tighten.
Replacing the leather honing wheel
If the Leather Honing Wheel (1) becomes worn or torn, it must be replaced:
1. Unscrew and set aside the Locking Knob (3)
2. Remove the worn honing wheel from the spindle, and position new wheel in its place
3. Re-fit the Locking Knob and tighten.
Note: Tighten by hand only.
Storage
ALWAYS empty the water trough, clean the machine and cover for storage
NEVER store the machine with a wet or damp grinding stone. ALWAYS ensure the stone has
dried completely before covering and storing long-term
Store this machine carefully in a secure, warm, dry place out of the reach of children
Disposal
Always adhere to national regulations when disposing of power tools that are no longer
functional and are not viable for repair.
Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE),
with household waste
Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct way to dispose of
power tools
