Do you have a question about the Trotec TDS 10 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The provided document is a user manual for a series of Trotec electric heaters, specifically models TDS 10, TDS 20, TDS 30, and TDS 50.

Function Description

These electric heaters are designed to generate and distribute warm air in enclosed spaces. They operate by heating air using an internal heating element, which is then blown into the room by a fan. The devices are equipped with an integrated thermostat to maintain a constant flow of warm air. Fan-only operation (without heating) is possible for TDS 20, TDS 30, and TDS 50 models, but not for the TDS 10.

Intended uses include heating air in construction trailers, greenhouses, boathouses, garages, market stalls, workshops, catering trade, warehouses and halls, and shipbuilding environments.

Usage Features

The devices are designed for straightforward operation with a control panel featuring a rotary switch for temperature and a selection switch for ventilation and heating levels.

  • Rotary Switch Temperature: Used to set the desired temperature via the room thermostat.
  • Selection Switch Ventilation and Heating Levels:
    • 0: OFF
    • TDS 10: Heating level 1, Heating level 2
    • TDS 20/TDS 30/TDS 50: Cold air/ventilation, Heating level 1, Heating level 2

Overheating Protection: All models are equipped with a safety thermostat that automatically switches off the device if it overheats. For the TDS 50, there is also a manual reset button for the internal thermostat.

Thermostat Control:

  • TDS 10 and TDS 20: The room thermostat automatically controls the room temperature. Both heating and ventilation switch off when the set value is exceeded.
  • TDS 30 and TDS 50: The heating switches off when the set value is exceeded, but the fan continues to run.

Transport: The devices are fitted with a carry handle for easy transport. Before transport, the device must be switched off, unplugged, and allowed to cool down sufficiently. The power cable should not be used to drag the device.

Storage: For storage, the device should be switched off, unplugged, and cooled down. It should be stored in an upright position, dry, protected from frost and heat, and away from dust and direct sunlight. A cover is recommended to protect against invasive dust. No other objects should be placed on top of the device to prevent damage.
