  The Troy-Bilt Lawn Mower engine may fail to start due to several reasons. First, ensure the PTO lever is disengaged (OFF). Next, engage the parking brake. Check that the spark plug wire(s) are connected to the spark plug. Make sure the throttle control lever is in the FAST position. If these steps don't work, pull out the CHOKE control and fill the tank with clean, fresh gas (less than 30 days old). Other potential causes include a blocked fuel line (clean or replace the fuel filter), a faulty spark plug (clean, adjust gap, or replace), or a flooded engine (crank the engine with the throttle in the FAST position).
