If your Troy-Bilt Lawn Mower engine won't start, here are several things to check: 1. Ensure the blade is disengaged by placing the blade engage lever in the OFF position. 2. Make sure the spark plug wire is securely connected to the spark plug. 3. Verify the fuel tank isn't empty and that you're using fresh gasoline (less than 30 days old). 4. Activate the choke by placing the throttle control in the CHOKE position. 5. Inspect the spark plug; clean, adjust the gap, or replace it if necessary. 6. Check for blown fuses and replace them. 7. If the engine is flooded, crank it with the throttle in the FAST position. 8. Be sure parking brake is engaged. 9. Confirm that the throttle control lever is in the FAST position.
