11 Disposal & Legislation
11.1 Environmental protection & disposal of the device
This symbol on the product, user manual or packaging indicates that this product
must not be disposed of in regular household waste at the end of its service life.
The device must be disposed of at a recycling collection point. The materials can be recycled
according to their designations. You will make an important contribution to the protection of
our environment by the correct end-of-life product recycling, material recycling or other form
of re-use.
The battery must be removed before disposal!
NOTE!
Please check with your local government to find the appropriate disposal point.
Empty the device before disposal and render it unusable.
11.2 Battery disposal
As a consumer, you are required by law to dispose of used batteries as hazardous waste.
DANGER
Risk of injury from defective, leaking battery! The battery used here contains sub-
stances that can result in injuries when contact with skin occurs or when inhaled.
Should your device have a leaking battery, you must use rubber gloves to remove it
from the device and properly dispose of it in a closed container.
The installed lead-gel battery must be disposed of separately from the rest of the device.
Disposal possibilities are as follows:
- By the dealer
- At a GRS recycling centre
- In special waste containers provided by the communities
Obtain additional disposal information from your community or city.
