In normal operation with music signals, and especially when driving a highly efficient
loudspeaker system such as Flashlight or Floodlight, the current drawn from the mains will
be surprisingly low. A 4-amplifier AMP-780 rack will typically draw 8 amps under no-signal
conditions, and 20 Amps when fully driven.
(For nominal 120v supplies the current will be approximately double that for 240 V.)
Audio Connections & Controls
The amplifiers’ actively balanced, fully-floating input connections are fuss free, regardless of
the installation's complexity.
The incoming XLR plug should be connected as follows.
Pin 1 connect to shield
Pin 2 hot (+)
Pin 3 cold (-)
The shield connection to pin 1 at each amplifier input must be maintained under all
circumstances, as TURBOSOUND will not be responsible for consequential damage arising
to loudspeakers, etc., should this connection not be made.
Polarity
In accordance with international standards, TMC amplifiers are supplied with Pin 2 hot (+), so
a positive (+V) input gives a positive (+V) output from the red (+) output terminals.
Input Impedance
Each amplifier channel has an input impedance of 10k
, seen between pins 2 & 3 of the XLR.
When used with the LMS-D6 Loudspeaker Management System, distribution amplifiers are
not required when a large number of TMC-750 or TMC-1250 amplifier inputs are driven in
parallel.
