Fresh air distribution
• Same instructions as for Method 1 or Method 2, Section 2.7.2.
For Method 2 (Return-return), make sure there is a distance of at least 3 feet (0.9 m) between the 2 connections to the furnace/air
handler.
NOTE: For Method 1, it is not essential to synchronize the furnace blower operation with the unit operation, but we recommend it.

CAUTION
If using Method 2, make sure the furnace/air handler blower operation is synchronized with the unit operation! See Section 5.
Rigid ducts
Use duct tape to connect the rigid ducts to the unit ports.
Make sure both balancing dampers are left in a fully open position before connecting the ducts to these ports (Fresh air to building
port and Exhaust air from building port) as shown below.
3.6 CONNECTING THE DUCTS TO THE UNIT
Insulated flexible ducts
Use the following procedure for connecting the insulated flexible ducts to the ports of the unit (
Exhaust air to outside
and
Fresh air
from outside
ports).
CAUTION
Make sure the vapor
barrier on the insulat-
ed ducts does not tear
during installation to
avoid condensation
within the ducts.
CAUTION
Do not use screws to connect the rigid ducts to the unit ports.
