PINECREST OWNER’S MANUAL
Operation
When the smoke aarm identifies smoke, the aarm will continue to sound until the air is safe. If the red light is fash-
ing, then that means the 9-volt battery is installed properly.
If the smoke aarm sounds
When the aarm is sounding, you will see a red light fashing quickly along with a loud horn sound.
As soon as the aarm sounds, it is imperative that you take it seriously and act instantly.
You should never ignore any aarm. It is for your safety.
FIRST, you should evacuate the RV then call.
Call 911 from your safe meeting pace.
How to test
Once a week, you are advised to test your smoke aarm to reassure that there are no complications. While testing
your aarm, stand a few feet back so that it does not cause damage to your hearing.
1. Hold down the test button until it aarms. After releasing your finger, it might still sound for a couple seconds
but do not be concerned that is normal.
2. If the aarm does not sound, then check the amount of power the aarm is getting and retest.
3. If it still does not sound, repace the battery or aarm as quickly as possible.
Battery
The most important step in maintaining your smoke aarm is making sure your 9-volt battery is good and properly
installed. Your aarm will not work if your battery is either dead, not in its proper pace, or has been disconnected.
Checking and repacing the battery will eliminate the high pitch beep sound that can come from your smoke detec-
tor as the battery becomes weak. When this sound occurs, it is your reminder to check your unit to ensure it is work-
ing. As a guideline, you should change the battery in your smoke detector every six months. Do not ever disconnect
any part of the fire aarm to silence it.
Maintenance
A second step in maintaining your aarm for optimum operation is wiping the exterior cover with a soft cloth to re-
move any dust or particles that may have settled on it. Never paint, cover, or pace any object over the smoke aarm
as it will interfere with its ability to function.
