Overview

The Vanner LSC12-2000 is a true sinewave inverter/charger system, designed with advanced power electronic and digital signal processor technology. It functions as a battery charger, a pure sinewave inverter, and an AC transfer system, all integrated into a compact enclosure. This bi-directional all-in-one design is certified by UL (UL458 Vehicle & Supplement SA), emphasizing its suitability for permanent systems and ease of installation.

Function Description:

The LSC12-2000 primarily serves three functions:

  1. Battery Charging: It features a three-step charging function (Bulk, Absorption, Float) to ensure batteries are always 100% charged. This multistage battery charger is equipped with Power Factor Correction (PFC) and Proportional-Integral (PI) features. PFC controls the power used for charging to achieve a power factor close to 1, making the charger appear as a resistor to the line and optimizing current wave shape. PI allows independent control of charger voltage and current, maximizing real power from the AC source (utility or generator) and improving charging capabilities. The charger monitors battery voltage to determine the appropriate charging stage. If AC power is lost and returns within 2 minutes, the charge mode resumes from its prior stage. The charger will stop charging if the AC input voltage falls below 90 VAC to stabilize the incoming AC voltage.
  2. Inverter Operation: It converts a DC voltage from a battery to an AC voltage, providing a perfectly reliable AC output even when external AC power is limited. The output is a pure sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 5% at 12.5V/25V/115VAC (linear load).
  3. AC Transfer System: When external AC power is available, the transfer relay switches on, supplying both outputs and the battery charger from the external AC power source. This allows for seamless transition between inverter and utility/generator power. The transfer time is 0 seconds.

Usage Features:

  • Battery Type Selection: The LSC12-2000 can connect to three types of batteries: LiFePO4, Flooded (default setting), and AGM. Users can adjust parameters via DIP switches to match specific battery charging characteristics.
  • Output Voltage Selection: The output voltage can be selected between 100V, 110V, 115V, and 120V using DIP switches S1 and S2. The default setting is 120VAC.
  • Output Frequency Selection: The output frequency can be set to either 50Hz or 60Hz using DIP switch S3. The default setting is 60Hz.
  • AC Input Current Limit Selection: Users can select the AC input current limit from 3A to 30A using DIP switches S4, S5, and S6. The default is 15A. This feature is crucial for the "Power Support function."
  • Charger Current Selection: The charger current can be set to 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% using DIP switches S9 and S10. The default is 100%.
  • DC Source Output On/Off: DIP switch S11 controls the DC source output, with a default setting of ON.
  • Saving Function: The saving mode can be activated or deactivated via DIP switch S12 (default OFF). This mode is triggered if the output load is less than 20W for 10 seconds, optimizing energy consumption.
  • Remote Control Terminal: A remote control terminal allows for ON/OFF operation of the inverter and can be connected to a Form C relay for "FAULT" indication. This includes conditions like input under/over voltage, output short circuit, over temperature, overload, and fan failure.
  • Power Support Function: With the adjustable AC input current limit, the Power Support function triggers Over-Load Protection (OLP) when the output power exceeds the limit. This protects the input AC power device (utility or generator) from overload.
  • Safety Features: The unit incorporates standard AC short circuit protection. The transfer relay immediately switches off if incoming AC power fails, preventing high voltage on the shore cable inlet when disconnected.

  • The unit should not be opened or disassembled, as this may void the warranty. Only qualified, authorized, and trained electricians are permitted to open the connection compartment.
  • Proper grounding of rack-mounted equipment is essential.
  • Adequate input power and correct wiring sizes must be ensured.
  • The unit should not be operated near combustible gas or open fire, or in excessive humidity.
  • Ventilation openings must not be covered or obstructed.
  • Precautions such as removing metal objects, using insulated tools, and wearing rubber gloves and boots should be taken when working on the inverter charger.
  • Excessive battery discharge or high charging voltage can cause serious damage to batteries.
  • Short circuiting or reversing polarity will lead to serious damage to batteries, the unit, and wiring.
