Overview

The VAX Steam Cleaner, available in models S85-CM and CDHF-SGXS, is a versatile steam mop designed for quick and easy cleaning of sealed hard floors and surfaces. It can also be used as a handheld steamer for various tasks.

Function Description:

The VAX Steam Cleaner uses steam to clean and refresh hard floors and surfaces, ensuring they are hygienically clean. It is intended for household use only and is not suitable for commercial or industrial applications. The machine operates by heating water to produce steam, which is then applied through various attachments to clean different surfaces. It is important to note that only water should be used in the water tank; adding detergents, perfumes, stain removers, or alcohol-containing products can damage the machine and invalidate the guarantee. For hard water areas, filtered water is recommended.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Voltage: 220-240V~50Hz
  • Wattage: 1300W
  • Cord length: 5m
  • Weight: 2.5kg
  • Water tank capacity: Approximately 330ml (filled with 2 x 165ml measuring jugs).
  • Heat-up time: Approximately 30 seconds.

Usage Features:

The VAX Steam Cleaner offers both floor cleaning and handheld steaming capabilities.

Assembly:

  1. Push the main body down into the floorhead until it clicks into place.
  2. Push the handle into the main body until it clicks into place.

Filling the Water Tank:

  1. Ensure the machine is on a flat surface.
  2. Twist the water tank cap anticlockwise and lift to remove.
  3. Use the measuring jug to fill the tank with 330ml of water.
  4. Replace the cap, ensuring it sits flush, and twist clockwise to lock it into position.
    • Important: Never turn the machine over when water is in the tank, as leakage may occur. The rattling sound of the water tube inside the tank during use is normal.

Cleaning Hard Floors (Steam Glide and Steam Clean Multi):

  1. Attach the microfibre pad to the floorhead, white side facing up, ensuring it covers the entire floorhead.
  2. Plug the machine into the mains and turn the dial to 'ON'. The red light will illuminate, indicating the machine is heating up. It will be ready in approximately 30 seconds.
  3. Twist the steam control dial to the desired setting to activate steam automatically.
  4. Place a foot on the floorhead and pull the handle backwards to recline the machine.
  5. Move the machine slowly backwards and forwards across the floor, focusing on high-traffic areas.
    • Important: Never use the floorhead without a microfibre pad attached. Do not leave the machine on one spot for an extended period with a damp or wet microfibre pad, as this may damage the floor surface.
  6. To finish, turn the dial to 'OFF' and allow the machine to cool. The red light will switch off.
  7. To remove the microfibre pad, hold a corner of the pad down with your foot and lift the machine.

Refreshing Carpets (Steam Glide and Steam Clean Multi):

  1. Attach the microfibre pad to the floorhead, white side facing up, ensuring it covers the entire floorhead.
  2. Push the machine into the front of the carpet glider, then place the back of the floorhead into the clip.
  3. Plug the machine into the mains and turn the dial to 'ON'. The red light will illuminate, and the machine will be ready in approximately 30 seconds.
  4. Twist the steam control dial to the desired setting to activate steam automatically.
  5. Place a foot on the floorhead and pull the handle backwards to recline the machine.
  6. Move the machine slowly backwards and forwards across the carpet, paying particular attention to high-traffic areas.
    • Important: Only use the carpet glider when refreshing carpets, and always ensure the microfibre pad is used and covers the floorhead entirely.
  7. To release the carpet glider, place your foot on the clip and push down, then lift the machine.
  8. To finish, turn the dial to 'OFF' and allow the machine to cool. The red light will switch off.
  9. To remove the microfibre pad, hold a corner of the pad down with your foot and lift the machine.

Using as a Handheld Steamer (Steam Clean Multi):

  2. Press the accessory release button and lift the machine to release the floorhead.
  3. Push the concentration nozzle into the machine until it clicks into place.
  4. Plug the machine into the mains and turn the dial to 'ON'. The red light will illuminate, and the machine will be ready in approximately 30 seconds.
  5. Twist the steam control dial to the desired setting.
  6. Hold the trigger until steam appears from the nozzle. During use, release and squeeze the trigger in short bursts to prevent over-wetting.

    • Important: The utility pad must be attached to the utility head when fitting the squeegee.

  • Grout Brush: Lifts embedded dirt from between tiles.
  • Utility Head and Pad: For use on upholstery and clothes.
  • Squeegee: Great for cleaning windows, tiles, and mirrors.
    • Caution: Never use the machine on cold glass/windows as it may cause damage. Taps should be turned off when steaming around them. Allow ovens, oven surfaces, or grills to cool to room temperature before steam cleaning.
