Exhaust emission control system
The exhaust gas emissions control system must work in conjunction with an electronic
fuel injection system (EFI), which requires no adjustment by the client. The idle speed
and fuel air mixture can only be adjusted by an Authorised Piaggio/Vespa Service
Centre with specific electronic instruments (diagnostic tester for scooters). The ex-
haust gas emissions control system is separate from the evaporative crankcase
emissions control system.
Crankcase emission control system
The vehicles are equipped with an evaporative emission control system consisting of
an activated carbon canister with the relevant pipes. This system prevents the escape
of fuel vapours from the fuel tank.
