Do you have a question about the VEVOR CF-6318 and is the answer not in the manual?
This document describes the VEVOR EVAPORATIVE HUMIDIFIER, Model: CF-6318, a device designed to increase the humidity in a room. It operates on the principle of evaporation, using a wick filter to draw water and a fan to circulate air, thereby releasing moisture into the environment. The humidifier is intended for household use and is not designed for commercial applications.
The evaporative humidifier works by drawing water from a reservoir through a wick filter. As air passes through the moistened filter, it picks up water vapor, which is then released into the room, increasing the ambient humidity. This method of humidification is generally considered safer than ultrasonic humidifiers as it does not produce white dust and is less likely to over-humidify a room.
The device features a control panel that allows users to manage various settings. It can be switched on and off with a dedicated key (K1). Upon activation, the display shows the current ambient relative humidity. For initial use, the device starts at a medium humidification level.
A night light function is available, controlled by key (K2). Users can choose between a circulating 7-color night light, a fixed single-color night light, or activate a sleep mode. Sleep mode can be canceled to resume default operation.
An automatic setting (K3) monitors the room's air humidity and adjusts the output to maintain an ideal humidity level, typically set at 50%. When the ambient humidity reaches 50%, the fan operates at a low setting. If the humidity drops below 45%, the fan automatically switches to a high setting to increase moisture output.
Users can also set a specific target humidity level using key (K4). The desired percentage (ranging from 40% to 75% in 5% increments) is displayed temporarily before reverting to the measured value. The device will continuously humidify when the measured value is lower than the set target. If the measured value exceeds the set relative humidity, the device operates at a low level.
The operating time can be set from 1 to 12 hours or to continuous operation (CO) using key (K5). The display will show the remaining operating time.
The fan speed, and consequently the intensity of humidity output, can be adjusted using key (K6). Options include Low, Medium, High, and Turbo settings.
The humidifier includes indicators for low water level. A white symbol (two bars) appears on the display when the water level in the basin is low, and the device automatically shuts off under certain conditions. In normal mode, the fan continues for 7 hours at medium speed, and the two white bars twinkle. In sleep mode, the fan runs for 10 hours at low speed, and the two white bars remain continuously lit. The same white symbol also appears if the main body is not correctly placed on the reservoir.
The device also tracks the operating hours of the wick filter. After 4,320 operating hours, the display will show "FR," indicating that the wick filter needs replacement. The operating time meter can be reset by pressing and holding the power key (K1) for 3 seconds until an audible signal sounds.
Before first use, the device should be placed upright on a solid, level, and moisture-resistant surface, at least 10cm away from walls to ensure optimal performance. It's crucial to ensure that air inlets and outlets are not obstructed. The power cord should be inspected for any damage.
To prepare the humidifier, the upper housing is lifted from the bottom housing, and the packaging is removed from the wick filter before inserting it into the bottom housing. The upper housing is then securely placed back onto the lower housing. Water is filled through the opening, ensuring the level does not exceed the MAX mark. Finally, the power cord is connected to an outlet.
Safety precautions are emphasized throughout the manual. Users are advised to use only cold water (tap, distilled, mineral, or other drinking water) and not to add hot water. The water in the basin should not be consumed by humans or animals. The power plug must be connected securely to prevent risks if the humidifier is tipped or liquid is spilled. The device should not be operated with a defective power plug or cord. Flammable materials, pesticides, or fragrances should not be sprayed near the humidifier. Air intake and outlet should remain uncovered. If the power outlet becomes hot, it indicates an improper connection, and a properly connected outlet should be used.
The humidifier should not have objects placed on top of it, nor should anyone sit on it. Only the original manufacturer's wick filter, specifically designed for this model, should be used. The device should not be used in environments with oil residue, chemical vapors, or where incense sticks are burnt, or near heaters, fireplaces, or gas-powered devices. Water should not be added through the air outlets.
It is important to regularly inspect the wick filter for bacteria and mold, especially if the humidifier has not been used for an extended period. Stained wick filters should be replaced. The device should never be tilted, moved, or emptied while operating. It must be shut off and unplugged before removing the upper housing or moving the unit.
Regular cleaning and maintenance are essential for optimal hygiene and performance. The water basin and wick filter should be cleaned weekly.
To clean the device, it must first be turned off and unplugged. The upper main body and float are lifted from the bottom housing, and the wick filter is removed. The bottom housing should be rinsed with warm water and wiped with a soft cloth. After cleaning, the upper main body and float are placed back securely onto the lower housing.
The housing of the humidifier can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth. For more thorough cleaning, a solution of 50:50 vinegar and water or a 3:1 solution of vinegar essence and water can be used. Abrasive or corrosive cleaners, detergents, gasoline, glass cleaner, furniture polish, paint thinner, or other household solvents should never be used on any part of the humidifier. The housing should never be placed under water flow or immersed in liquids.
Daily maintenance involves filling the bottom housing with clean water and cleaning it with warm water and a soft cloth every 1 to 2 days.
The wick filter needs to be replaced after approximately 4,320 operating hours, as indicated by the "FR" message on the display. Only original supplied wick filters should be used. The replacement process involves turning off and unplugging the device, lifting the upper main body and float, removing the old wick filter, inserting the new one, and then securely reassembling the unit.
For storage, the humidifier should be thoroughly cleaned and dried. All parts must be clean and dry before storing. No water should be left in the lower housing, as this can lead to mineral deposits and microbial growth. The device should be stored in a cool and dry location. When transporting the device, it must always be switched off, unplugged, and empty.
