TROUBLE SHOOTING CHART
TROUBLE CAUSES REMEDY
Engine fails to crank
Battery installed incorrectly
Check that red wire is connected to ( +)term inal
of the battery and the black wire is connected to
( - ) terminal.
Establish reason for fuse blowing and correct.
Check for short circu it e.g. bare wires earth ing
out. Replace wire or repair with insulating tape.
Blown fuse - (Fuse holder mounted
underneath dashboard)
Battery is dead or weak Check condition of battery with hydrometer.
The specific gravity should be at least 1.215
aizz -c.
Establish reason for low reading , e.g. defective
battery, battery will not hold full charge, short
circuit or charging circuit inoperative.
Defective interlocking system.
Check connection on brake switch.
Check connection on seat switch.
Defective solenoid or solenoid connection. Connect wire (MINIMUM
O.8mm

)
to ( +)
(Mounted underneath dashboard)
terminal of battery. Touch other end of wire to
small solenoid terminal. if engine does not
crank there is a bad connection or earth .
Alternatively the solenoid could be defective.
Check solenoid by jumping between the two
large terminals with a heavy wire (minimum
8.4mm
2
) .
Ifthe engine cranks the solenoid
is defective. If not then have the starter motor
tested by an authorised dealer.
Engines cranks but will not start .
Throttle or choke not correctly set. Set controls correctly for starting.
Shortage of fuel.
Dirty air filter.
Carburettor incorrectly adjusted.
Check fuel level in petrol tank ,check fuel tap
setting , check fuel line for blockages.
Check cut off solenoid (Pro 16).
Clean or replace air filter.
Adjust carburettor in accordance with
maintenance instructions.
Stop engine immediately,check all cutter deck
pulleys, b'ade spindles, blade disc, blades and
blades bolts for damage and tightness. Replace
damaged components.
Replace or renew belt, adjust tension, clean
discharge chute and cutter deck. Run engine at
speed between 3/4 and full throttle, replace
worn or damaged blades.
Excessive vibration.
Bent or damaged blade spindle, blade
. disc or blades.
Mowerfails to discharge grass or
leaves uncut strips.
Broken or dislodged cutter belt, discharge
chute clogged,foreign object lodged
in cutter
deck , engine speed too slow,
blades worn or damaged.
