Transporting lithium-ion batteries:
MB 545.1 VE: The lithium-ion batteries
used meet the requirements specified in
UN manual ST/SG/AC.10/11/Rev. 5
Part III, subsection 38.3.
The user may carry these batteries to the
place of use of the machine without further
restrictions during road transport.
Country-specific legislation must be
observed in the case of air or sea
transport.

Fault:
Engine not starting.
Possible cause:
– Motorstop lever not pressed.
– MB 545 VS: Throttle lever is in STOP
position.
– MB 545 VE: Battery discharged or
defective.
– No fuel in tank; fuel line blocked.
– Inferior, dirty or old fuel in tank.
–Air filter dirty.
– Spark plug socket detached from spark
plug; ignition lead not properly fastened
to socket.
– Spark plug dirty or damaged; incorrect
electrode gap.
– Lawn mower housing blocked.
– MB 545 VS: Throttle cable disengaged
or damaged (e.g. kinked).
Remedy:
– Press motorstop lever to handlebar and
hold. (Ö 13.2)
– MB 545 VS: Set throttle lever to MAX
position. (Ö 13.4)
– MB 545 VE: Charge or replace battery.
(Ö 9.6)
– Top up fuel; clean fuel line. #
– Always use fresh, good quality fuel,
unleaded petrol; clean carburettor. #
– Clean air filter. #
– Connect spark plug socket; check
connection between ignition lead and
socket. #
– Clean or replace spark plug; adjust
electrode gap. #
– Clean lawn mower housing (disconnect
spark plug socket first) and additionally
remove battery on MB 545 VE.

– MB 545 VS: Attach or replace throttle
cable. #
Fault:
Starting problems or deteriorating engine
power.
Possible cause:
– Lawn mower housing blocked.
– Mowing at an excessively low cutting
height or propulsion speed is too high in
relation to the cutting height.
– Water in fuel tank and carburettor;
carburettor blocked.
– Fuel tank contaminated.
– Air filter dirty.
– Spark plug dirty.
Remedy:
– Clean lawn mower housing (disconnect
spark plug socket first) and additionally
remove battery on
MB 545 VE.(Ö 14.2)
– Select higher cutting height or reduce
pushing speed. (Ö 9.5)
– Empty fuel tank, clean fuel line and
carburettor. #
– Clean fuel tank. #
