The camera system includes a front camera, and an optional interior camera, providing a dual-channel recording solution.
Function Description:
The VIOFO A129 Plus Duo IR is primarily a dash camera system that records video footage from both the front of the vehicle and its interior. It automatically starts recording when the engine is turned on and stops when the engine is off or power is disconnected. The device supports loop recording, which continuously overwrites the oldest files when the memory card is full, ensuring continuous operation. Emergency recording is triggered by a G-sensor upon collision or can be manually activated, locking the current video file to prevent overwriting.
The camera also features a motion detection parking mode, which records when movement is detected within its field of view while the car is parked. Alternatively, it offers time-lapse recording or low bitrate recording for parking surveillance, conserving memory while maintaining continuous coverage.
For user interaction, the device includes an LCD screen for live view and menu navigation. It supports Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing users to review and control the camera remotely via the VIOFO smartphone app. An optional Bluetooth remote control provides quick access to lock video files and take snapshots without diverting attention from the road.
The camera can be connected to a computer via USB to transfer video files, and it supports firmware upgrades to enhance functionality and performance. It also has an AV out port for connecting to an external display like a monitor or TV.

Usage Features:
- Easy Installation: The front camera mounts horizontally into a slot, and the interior camera can be fixed to the windshield. Both require clean, grease-free surfaces for the sticky pads. Cable routing diagrams are provided for convenient and safe installation.
- Intuitive Controls: Buttons for Menu/Power, Recording On/Off, Video Protect/Playback, Microphone On/Off, Wi-Fi On/Off, and Reset. LED indicators show recording status, Wi-Fi status, and microphone status.
- Smartphone Integration: The VIOFO app (available on Android and iOS) allows full camera control, live preview, playback, and video recording via Wi-Fi.
- PIP Mode: Four live preview modes on the LCD screen and via Wi-Fi when the interior camera is attached: Front + Interior (interior overlaid), Interior + Front (front overlaid), Front Only, and Interior Only.
- PC Mode: Connects as a "removable disk" to a computer, allowing access to "Movie" (loop recording and protected files) and "Photo" folders.

- Firmware Upgrades: Firmware can be updated via the VIOFO support website. It is crucial not to unplug or power off the camera during an upgrade to prevent boot failure. Formatting the SD card before upgrading is also recommended.
- Format Warning: Users can set the number of days between format warnings to remind them to format the SD card.
- Default Settings: Option to restore the device to factory settings.
- Cleaning: The installation surface of the windscreen should be wiped clean with a dry, grease-free cloth before applying sticky pads.
