pressure tested with OFN before
being reloaded. After the charging
has been completed, but before
commissioning, the system must
be tested for leaks. Before leaving
the site, a leak test will be carried
out
14.
Decommissioning
Before performing this procedure,
it is essential that the technician is
fully familiar with the equipment
and its details. It is the
recommended good method to
safely recover all coolant
refrigerants. Prior to the task to be
performed, a sample must be
taken of the oil and coolant in
case an analysis is needed before
the recovered coolant can be
reused. It is essential that
electrical power is available
before the task is started.
a) Familiarize yourself with the
equipment and its operation.
b) Isolate the system electrically.
c) Ensure this before you try the
procedure:
If necessary, mechanical
treatment equipment is
available for handling
refrigerant cylinders;
All personal protective
equipment is available and is
used correctly; The recovery
process is always monitored
by an authorized person;
Recovery equipment and
cylinders meet the applicable
standards.
d) Drain the coolant system if
possible.
e) If a vacuum is not possible,
make a manifold so that you
can remove the coolant from
different parts of the system.
f) Make sure that the cylinder is
on the scales before the repair
takes place.
g) Start the repair machine and
work in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions.
h) Do not overload the cylinders.
(Not fill more than 80% volume
of liquid charge).
i) Do not exceed the maximum
operating pressure of the
cylinder, even temporarily.
j) If the cylinders are filled
correctly and the process is
complete, you must ensure
that the cylinders and
equipment are immediately
removed from the site and that
all isolation valves on the
equipment are closed.
k) Recycled refrigerant must not
be loaded into another cooling
system unless it has been
cleaned and checked.
15.Labelling
The equipment must be labeled
with the correct indication about
refrigerant volume and weight.
The label must be dated and
signed. Make sure there are
labels on the equipment stating
that the equipment contains
flammable coolant.
