How to troubleshoot high head pressure in my water-cooled Vogt Ice Maker?
- DDawn GarciaAug 31, 2025
To troubleshoot high head pressure in your water-cooled Vogt Ice Maker, consider these possible causes: a misadjusted or defective water regulating valve, which you should adjust or replace. Insufficient water supply, so check the size of the water line and pump output at the condenser. The cooling tower may need maintenance, so check the cooling tower fan belt and tighten or replace it as needed. Non-condensables (usually air) in the system; check refrigerant tables for correct pressure/temperature relation. A fouled (dirty) condenser; follow the diagnostic procedure outlined on page 7-3, Section 7, and clean the condenser per instructions under Condenser Cleaning.
