Function description
With its varialbe-adjustable voltage and current settings, the DPS can be used universally for
different applications. A fan, controlled by a temperature circuit, protects the power supply from
thermal overload. An electronic current limiter protects the DPS from overload and short-curcuits
at its output. During such an overload (short circuit or power-overload) the output is regulated
down automatically, i.e. the voltage is reduced. Only when the short-circuit has been removed,
than the output is released again. The setted values are shown on the illluminated multible-line
LCD. The voltage-, current- or power setting is adjusted by an encoder-wheel in 10mV-/ 10mA-/
1W-steps. Therefore an exact adjustment of the output voltage, the current limit and the
maximum output-power is possible.
Operating instructions
A.) Basic settings, general
1. Connect the AC power cable to the AC power socket (8). Take care that the cable have good
contact. Then plug the earthed power plug into an earthed AC power socket (230VAC/50Hz).
CAUTION!
the power cord nor in the power socket. Otherwise life will be endangered.
2. Press the AC power ON/OFF switch (4) und switch on the DPS.
3. The green illuminated LC-Display (7) shows 13,6VDC, the limits are setted on the maximum
level
CAUTION!
connected to the protective earthing conductor.
B.) Setting the Limits
The output values of voltage (U), current (I) and power (P) are each limitted to the maximum.
This upper limit can be varied downwards. Setting the limit is to do with the left row of the keypad
(7) as follows:
1. Voltage limit (U)
Press the „U“ key in the „LIMITS“-field of the keypad until the symbol „U-const“ flashes. The
voltage limit can now be adjusted in 1V-steps using the encoder wheel (5). To complete the
input, press the „ENT“ (enter)-key. An inadvertently wrongly setted limit can be erased/resetted
with the „CE“ key. As result of this the previously-set value will be indicated, to exit the setting
menue press „ENT“ – „U-const“ stop flashing.
The output voltage can be adjusted during the operation „Output-ON“ up to the setted limit.
2. Current limit (I)
Press the „I“ key in the „LIMITS“-field of the keypad until the symbol „I-const“ flashes. The current
limit can now be adjusted in 10mA-steps (fine) or 100mA-steps (norm) using the encoder wheel
(5). To complete the input, press the „ENT“ (enter)-key. An inadvertently wrongly setted limit can
be erased/resetted with the „CE“ key. As result of this the previously-set value will be indicated,
to exit the setting menue press „ENT“ – „I-const“ stop flashing.
3. Power limit (P)
Press the „P“ key in the „LIMITS“-field o the keypad until the symbol „P-const“ flashes. The
voltage limit can now be adjusted in 1W-steps using the encoder wheel (5). To complete the
input, press the „ENT“ (enter)-key. An inadvertently wrongly setted limit can be erased/resetted
