The stability and traction control system (p.
179) (DSTC - Dynamic Stability & Traction
Control) helps the driver to avoid skidding and
improves the car's traction.

Symbol Message Specification
DSTC Temporarily OFF
The system is temporarily reduced due to excessive brake disc temperature. - The function is reactiva-
ted automatically when the brakes have cooled.
DSTC Service required
The system is disengaged.

Stop the car in a safe place, switch off the engine and start it again.

Visit a workshop if the message remains - an authorised Volvo workshop is recommended.
