Overview

This document describes the VSYSTO S2F Motorcycle Dash Cam, a device designed to record video while a motorcycle is in operation, primarily for reference in investigating incidents or road accidents. It emphasizes safe driving and smart driving practices.

Function Description

The VSYSTO S2F Motorcycle Dash Cam is a dual-camera recording system for motorcycles, capturing both front and rear views. It automatically records video when the motorcycle is in operation and offers various recording modes to ensure critical events are captured. The device is designed to provide visual evidence in case of accidents or incidents, though it's important to note that it doesn't guarantee recording of all events, especially those with very minor or massive impacts that might affect battery voltage.

The core function involves continuous video recording when the power is on and a TF card is inserted. This "Normal Video Mode" ensures that both front and rear cameras are actively recording. In addition to continuous recording, the dash cam features an "Emergency Video Mode" which is activated automatically by a G-Sensor upon detecting a collision. These emergency files are specifically named with "GSR" to distinguish them. Users can also manually trigger emergency recording by pressing a dedicated button on the wired remote control, with these files named "KEY". During manual emergency recording, snapshots are also captured from both cameras.

The device includes a GPS module, which, when properly installed with the "GPS" icon facing the sky, provides location information such as altitude, longitude, and latitude, as well as speed data. This information can be watermarked onto playback videos when viewed on a PC or app, adding valuable context to the recorded footage.

Usage Features

The VSYSTO S2F is designed for ease of use, with automatic power on/off functionality linked to the motorcycle's ignition switch. This means the dash cam starts recording when the motorcycle is turned on and stops when it's turned off, provided it's installed correctly. Users are advised to wait for the product to fully boot up before operating the motorcycle to ensure all events are recorded.

Video playback is flexible, offering multiple options:

  • On-monitor playback: Users can access the main menu on the device's screen and select "Playback mode" to review videos directly on the dash cam's display.
  • Mobile device playback: The dash cam supports Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing users to connect via an Android/iOS app to play back videos. Alternatively, the micro-SD card can be inserted into a mobile device using an OTG card reader, enabling access to "FRONT" and "REAR" video file folders for playback.
  • Computer playback: The micro-SD card can be inserted into a USB card reader and connected to a computer, where users can navigate to the "FRONT" and "REAR" video file folders to play back the desired videos.

The wired remote control is a central interface for interacting with the dash cam while riding. It features buttons for various functions:

  • Short press (Video Mode): Switches between different display modes on the screen.
  • Long press (Video Mode): Shuts down the DVR.
  • Short press (Playback Mode): Switches the video list between front and rear cameras.
  • Short press (Video Mode): Activates manual emergency video recording and takes a snapshot.
  • Long press (Video Mode): Enters the Main Menu for settings adjustments.
  • Short press (Video Mode): Switches the display to the rear camera in full screen.
  • Long press (Video Mode): Enters Smart Gauge Mode.
  • Smart Gauge Mode (Short press): Cycles through various information displays such as speed, tire pressure (if applicable), and battery voltage.
  • Smart Gauge Mode (Long press): Exits Smart Gauge Mode.

The remote control also features an LED light that indicates the camera's status: slow blinking for proper recording, fast blinking for emergency recording, steady light for stopped recording, and off for power off.

The device offers a "Smart Gauge Mode" which can be accessed by long-pressing the DOWN button in video mode. This mode displays real-time information including current voltage, battery voltage after flameout (1 hour and 1 minute), single driving time, average speed of single driving, altitude, longitude, latitude, and atmospheric pressure. Short presses cycle through these displays, and a long press exits the mode.

For parking, the dash cam offers two modes:

  • Impact Mode (Parking monitoring): Records 30 seconds upon detecting an impact and then turns off to conserve energy. This mode's sensitivity (High/Standard/Low) can be adjusted.
  • Preset Mode (Flameout detection): Records automatically when the engine is off and continues for a set duration (15 min/30 min/1H/2H/3H). It's important to note that parking modes do not function if the dash cam is powered via a USB cable.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of the VSYSTO S2F dash cam. The manual provides several guidelines:

  • Memory Card Management: Users are instructed to insert the memory card correctly until it clicks and to format cards before use and regularly (at least once a week) to ensure proper operation and data integrity. It's critical not to remove or insert the memory card while the device is powered on, as this can cause damage. Only high-speed micro SD cards with CLASS⑩ are recommended.
  • Cleaning: The product should be cleaned using a clean, soft, dry fabric, avoiding chemicals or detergents that could damage it.
  • Environmental Considerations: The device should not be operated in places with high humidity or temperature, as this can lead to malfunction, explosion, or fire. It should not be fully submerged in water or used outside for prolonged periods during rain to prevent water damage.
  • Physical Handling: Users are warned not to disassemble the product or subject it to impact, as this voids the warranty. Cables should not be bent or connectors twisted during installation.
  • Installation Precautions: When installing, the main unit, lenses, power module, and remote should not be flushed with a high-pressure water gun. The main unit and lens cables should be kept away from high-voltage circuits like xenon lamps or ignition plugs. For motorcycles with traditional carburetor systems, changing to a suitable R-value ignition plug is suggested if interference phenomena occur.
  • Power Supply: During quick testing, the input voltage should not exceed 5V, and the current from the USB power source needs to be 2A or above.
  • Firmware Updates: The device includes a "FW version" setting, allowing users to check the current firmware, implying that firmware updates may be available to improve performance or add features.
  • Factory Reset: A "Reset setup" option is available in the menu to restore the device to its factory settings, which can be useful for troubleshooting or resolving configuration issues.
