Securing the thread ends
At the beginning of the seam
To secure the thread ends against coming
loose, choose one of the following methods:
Divide
the thread chain into single
threads and tie them together (A).
Thread the thread chain into a needle
with a long eye and pull the thread chain
under the seam (B).
Cut the thread chain at the edge of the
fabric and secure the thread ends with
glue (C).
Tying off
Sew a thread chain with a length of
approx. 5 cm.
Place the fabric under the presser foot
and sew a few stitches.
Lift the presser foot and place the thread
chain forward under the presser foot.
Lower the presser foot again.
Slowly sew the thread chain into the
seam. Pull the thread chain to the right
after approx. 2.5 cm so that it is cut by the
upper knife.
At the end of the seam
Sew right to the edge of the fabric.
Turn the hand wheel until the needles are
in the upper position. Lift the presser foot.
Turn the fabric so that the bottom is on
top and the seam is on the right.
Lower the presser foot and sew approx.
2.5 cm along the seam. Make sure that
the cutting mechanism does not damage
any seam threads.
