3.4 Checking the Stator Windings
Prerequisites
Generator shut down
Multimeter
Procedure
Follow the procedure below to check the stator windings.
1. Shut down the generator.
2. Remove the front panel (a) from the generator.
3. Disconnect the main wiring connector.
4. Measure the resistance between the red and white wires; also measure the
resistance between the blue and brown wires.
Is 0.2–0.3 Ohms measured in each case?
5. Check if the stator winding is shorted to ground by checking the continuity
between each wire (red, white, blue, and brown) and ground.
Is there continuity?
