Do you have a question about the WaterLogic WL15-HCS and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Waterlogic WL15 is a sophisticated water dispenser designed for household use, offering a range of advanced features for safe, convenient, and efficient water dispensing. This device is engineered to provide hot, cold, and sparkling water (or ambient water, depending on the model), making it a versatile addition to any home or office environment.

Function Description

The primary function of the Waterlogic WL15 is to filter and dispense various types of water on demand. It is equipped to produce hot water at temperatures exceeding 80°C (175°F), cold water at 3°C (38°F), and sparkling water. For models offering ambient water, it dispenses water at room temperature. The device achieves cold water by running water through stainless steel coils submerged in the sparkling water tank, ensuring instantaneous cooling. The hot water is stored in a dedicated hot tank.

A key aspect of its operation is the use of advanced filtration and purification technologies, although specific details of these technologies are not provided in the given text. The system is designed to connect directly to a potable water supply, ensuring a continuous flow of water for dispensing.

Usage Features

The Waterlogic WL15 incorporates several user-friendly features that enhance its convenience and safety:

  • Touch Sensor Application: Unlike traditional button interfaces, the WL15 features built-in touch sensor buttons for water selection and dispensing. This design aims for effortless and enjoyable use, providing a modern and sleek user experience.
  • Unlock Dispense Function (Child Safeguard): To prevent accidental dispensing, especially of hot water, the WL15 is equipped with a lock-out function. Users must press and release a dedicated unlock button (represented by a padlock icon) before any water type can be selected and dispensed. This function automatically relocks after 10 seconds of inactivity, providing an important safety measure, particularly in households with children.
  • Water Selection and Dispensing: Once unlocked, users can select their desired water type (Cold, Hot, or Sparkling/Ambient) by pressing and holding the corresponding touch sensor button. An LED indicator will light up to confirm the selection. Water dispensing continues as long as the button is held and stops upon release.
  • Water Level Detection Sensor: The WL15 utilizes a capacitive sensor for water level detection within the sparkling tank. This advanced sensor technology offers improved accuracy compared to traditional float level sensors and contributes to more reliable and safer operation. The signal from this sensor is sent to a controller, which automatically adjusts the filtered water level, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Leak Detection and Flood Prevention: A critical safety feature is the integrated leak detection system. If water leaks inside the machine, the system automatically shuts down the inlet solenoid to prevent further leakage. An audible alarm will sound for 10 seconds, accompanied by all four touch buttons blinking. The buttons will continue to blink, and the inlet solenoid will remain inactive until the leaked water issue is resolved, thereby preventing potential property damage.
  • Energy Saver Function: The WL15 includes an Energy Saving function designed to reduce power consumption. This feature allows the hot tank to cool down and be disabled during periods of inactivity. The machine uses a photovoltaic sensor to gauge ambient light levels. When the lights go out, the hot tank will turn off after 10 minutes and will reactivate when the lights come back on. This function is disengaged by default and must be manually enabled by the user by simultaneously pressing and holding both the Unlock and Hot Select buttons until the Energy Saving LED illuminates. The feature can be disengaged by repeating the same action.
  • Operation Lights: The dispenser features indicator lights that provide real-time status updates:
    • HOT: Indicates that hot water has reached the desired temperature.
    • HEATING: Indicates that hot water is currently being heated.
    • COLD: Indicates that sparkling and cold water are at the desired temperature.
    • CHILLING: Indicates that sparkling and cold water are currently being chilled.

Maintenance Features

While the provided text focuses more on operational and safety features, it also touches upon aspects related to maintenance and proper handling:

  • Sanitization Requirement: The manual explicitly states that the unit must be completely drained before storing to avoid stagnation and reduce microbiological contamination. It also emphasizes the need to sanitize the unit before use to eliminate any potential microbiological contaminants. This highlights the importance of regular sanitization for maintaining water quality.
  • Professional Installation and Service: The manual strongly advises that only qualified service technicians should attempt installation and service of Waterlogic Equipment. It also states that installation, maintenance, sanitizing, and any repairs must be performed by qualified persons trained by Waterlogic International or their approved distributors. This ensures that the device is handled correctly, preventing potential hazards and maintaining warranty validity.
  • Damage Protocol: Users are instructed not to operate the unit if it is damaged. In case of abnormal conditions, users should unplug the unit, isolate the water supply, and contact Waterlogic or an authorized dealer for repair, service, and installation. This emphasizes a proactive approach to safety and problem resolution.
  • Water Pressure Regulation: The manual recommends using a water pressure regulator and specifies an input or feed pressure range of 40 psi to 60 psi. It warns against excessive water pressure and potential pressure surges, implying that proper pressure regulation is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of the unit.
  • UV Stabilized Supply Lines: The use of UV stabilized supply lines is recommended, and users are advised to feed the unit with potable ambient or cold water supply only. Feeding water over 37°C (100°F) can damage treatment components. The recommendation of water block devices and external leak detectors further suggests a focus on preventing water-related issues and simplifying maintenance by early detection.
  • Clearance Requirements: For efficient operation and heat dissipation, the unit requires adequate clearance around all surfaces. A minimum of 2 inches is specified, with 4 inches recommended for environments where ambient temperatures exceed 27°C (80°F). This is a maintenance-related instruction to ensure the refrigeration system functions correctly.

The Waterlogic WL15 is designed with a strong emphasis on user safety, convenience, and water quality, incorporating intelligent features for both daily use and long-term care.
