WE RECOMMEND HAVING THE FOLLOWING TOOLS AVAILABLE WHEN MAKING ADJUSTMENTS TO THE MACHINE:
METRIC ALLEN KEYS, METRIC SOCKET SET, METRIC WRENCHES, VOLT METER, SCREW DRIVERS, TAPE MEASURE, RULER,
CALIPER, ADJUSTABLE WRENCHES, AND A GREASE GUN.
FORMER
The circumference of the Former’s tube determines the width of
the bag created from it.
The Former uses tension to shape the film into a tube as it runs
over the Former’s wing. Improper installation of the Former may
cause the film to crumple, result in deformation of the bag’s fin or
poor bag seals.
Film should ride up the back of the Former’s wing and pass into
the narrow opening at the top of the wing so that it may run over
the Former’s tube. The Former’s wing is designed to create the
shape of the bag’s seal.
Use caution when removing or mounting the Former; some
Formers can be much larger and heavier than others, so
caution is required when handling them.
To remove or install a new Former on the Vertek 1200,
follow the instructions that are outlined in this section.
