Why does my Weil-McLain WTGO Boiler burner turn on and off frequently?
    • L
      Lauren JamesAug 13, 2025
The rapid cycling of your Weil-McLain boiler could be due to several reasons. It might be that the thermostat is installed in a location where drafts or heat are affecting its reading. Try relocating the thermostat to an inner wall, away from heat sources or cool drafts. Another cause could be an incorrectly adjusted heat anticipator in the thermostat; in this case, adjust the heat anticipator to match the current draw, referring to the boiler wiring diagram. Also, the limit setting may be incorrect. A qualified service technician can increase the limit setting to decrease cycling, up to a maximum setting of 220° F.

Why are some radiators not heating in my Weil-McLain Boiler system?
    • K
      Kyle KellyAug 20, 2025
If some radiators or baseboard units in your Weil-McLain boiler system do not heat or are noisy, it could be due to a few reasons. There might be air in the system; try bleeding air from the system through air vents in the radiators or baseboard units. Low system pressure could also be the cause, so have a qualified service technician check for leaks in the boiler or piping. Another possibility is that the high limit is set too low, in which case you should have a qualified service technician adjust the limit to a higher setting.

Why does my Weil-McLain Boiler need frequent makeup water?
    • L
      larry59Aug 25, 2025
If you need to frequently add makeup water to your Weil-McLain boiler, it is likely due to leaks in the boiler or piping. To resolve this, have a qualified service technician repair the leaks at once to avoid constant use of makeup water.

    Michele DuranAug 28, 2025
What causes popping noises in my Weil-McLain WTGO?
    • J
      jeremiahwilkinsAug 28, 2025
A popping or percolating noise in your Weil-McLain boiler is often caused by mineral deposits in the sections due to constant use of makeup water, or an incorrect pH. Have a qualified service technician de-lime the boiler, repair leaks at once to avoid constant use of makeup water, and check the pH, which should be between 7.0 and 8.5.

What causes black water in Weil-McLain Boiler?
    • C
      Christopher StarkSep 1, 2025
Black water in your Weil-McLain boiler is caused by oxygen corrosion due to leaks in the piping. Have a qualified service technician repair leaks at once to avoid constant use of makeup water and check the pH, ensuring it is between 7.0 and 8.5.

Why does my Weil-McLain WTGO Boiler relief valve release water frequently?
    • N
      Nicholas BurkeSep 4, 2025
Frequent release of water through the relief valve in your Weil-McLain boiler is often due to an expansion tank that is either sized too small or water-logged. Have a qualified service technician check the expansion tank operation.

    Helen TorresSep 8, 2025
Why are there metal flakes in my Weil-McLain WTGO flueway?
    • J
      Jon Bell MDSep 8, 2025
Metal flakes in the flueway of your Weil-McLain boiler can be caused by contaminated combustion air supply or condensation of combustion gases. Remove sources of hydrocarbons in or near the boiler area, such as bleaches, cleaners, chemicals, sprays, fabric softeners, and paint remover. Also, have a qualified service technician check the boiler operation.

What to do if my Weil-McLain WTGO Boiler domestic water is hot then suddenly turns cold?
    • D
      Donna WhiteNov 15, 2025
If the domestic water from your Weil-McLain boiler's tankless heater is hot then suddenly turns cold, or is always lukewarm, several factors could be responsible. Mineral deposits might be insulating the internal waterways of the heater, or boiler stop-leak compound may have been added to the boiler water and is insulating the outside of the coil. Also, the mixing valve setting for the tankless heater could be incorrect, the domestic flow rate may be too high, or the setting on the tankless heater control might be off. It is recommended to have a qualified service technician address these potential issues: deliming or replacing the coil, removing and cleaning the coil and flushing the boiler, adjusting the mixing valve setting, installing a flow check valve, or adjusting the tankless contr...
