5 Hygienic preparation
5.3 Hygienic preparation of pressure
reducers
Requirement The pressure reducer is removed (see “4.2 Removing the pressure
reducer”, page 16).
1. Carry out hygienic preparation of the pressure reducer as
specified in the following table:
2. Install the pressure reducer (see “4.1 Installing the pressure
reducer”, page 15).
3. Perform a function check (see “6.2 Performing a function
check”, page 23).
Result The pressure reducer is hygienically prepared.
Risk of injury if disinfectants containing alcohol or grease are
used for wipe disinfection!
Disinfectants containing alcohol or grease react with oxygen to
create a flammable mixture and can result in explosions and injury
to the user and patient.
When wiping the pressure reducer with disinfectant, do not
use disinfectants containing alcohol or grease.
Risk of injury due to ingress of liquids!
Liquids entering the pressure reducer may cause explosions and
therefore injure the patient.
Do not immerse the pressure reducer in liquids.
