6 Function check
6.3 Repairing leaks
Requirement The pressure reducer is installed (see “4.1 Installing the
pressure reducer”, page 15).
1. Prepare a soap solution using unperfumed soap.
2. Open the valve of the oxygen cylinder slowly.
3. Coat all the screw connections with the soap solution.
Bubbles will form if a leak is present.
4. Dry the screw connections with a lint-free cloth.
5. Close the oxygen cylinder.
6. If the sealing ring has a leak: Replace the sealing ring (see “8.5
Replacing the sealing ring”, page 29).
7. If the safety valve has a leak: Remove the pressure reducer (see
“4.2 Removing the pressure reducer”, page 16) and have it
repaired.
8. Check again for leaks.
Result The leak has been rectified.
