6 Function check
12. If the system has a leak: Rectify the leak (see “6.3 Repairing
leaks”, page 25).
13. Open the valve of the oxygen cylinder slowly.
14. If possible: Set the pressure reducer to the maximum inhalation
flow.
15. Check the exiting inhalation flow.
16. If there is a medical device connected to the pressure outlet:
Switch on the device.
17. Use your finger to check whether there is oxygen escaping
around the safety valve.
• If there is no oxygen escaping: The safety valve is free from
leaks.
• If there is oxygen escaping: The safety valve has a leak.
18. If the safety valve has a leak: Have the pressure reducer
repaired.
19. If errors occur during the function check: Do not use the
pressure reducer.
20. Close the valve on the oxygen cylinder.
21. If possible: Set the inhalation flow to 0, if the contents indicator
shows 0 bar.
22. Switch off the medical devices.
Result The function check is complete.
