The HL dispiay will display the error code.

The CPU will be put into a state which will halt its
operation and not allow it to resume unless the power is
cycled.
The system error conditions
to be tested for and their codes are
as follows:

Indicates the EPROM checksum was in
error at power up. If not recoverable replace

If the problem is not resolved by

open traces,
or shorted traces between

6.10 ERROR MESSAGES
L
The GSI 17 will display a Diagnostic
Error Message should a
condition exist which may cause incorrect or unreliable operation
of the instrument.
If
an error is detected normal operation of
the instrument will be aborted and the instrument will stop
operating.
The condition of the error will be indicated to the
operator by displaying an abort code on digits
1,
2, and 3 of the
HL Display.
The error message will be displayed in the format of
"Exx"
where xx is a 2 digit abort number to identify the type of
abort.
When a system error
occurs which causes the instrument to halt
operation,
the following will occur:
1.
If the channel i s
"ON"
it will be turned OFF.
2.
All transducers will be disconnected from the channel.
3.
The Watch Dog (COP) timer and clock monitor will be
disabled.
RAM FAILURE

If not recoverable replace

WATCH DOG TIMER ERROR
-
If not recoverable replace

CPU CLOCK FAILURE
