      If your Wen sander motor doesn't start and makes no noise, check the following: Ensure the unit is plugged into a power source. Verify that you are using the correct size and length of extension cord. Check if the power line breaker is tripped and reset it if necessary. Also, see if the unit’s onboard breaker is tripped and push the button to reset it. If none of these solutions work, the power switch, relay, or motor might be defective.

      If the Wen sander motor won't start and the fuses or circuit breakers are tripping, inspect the cord or plug for damaged insulation and shorted wires. Also, check all connections on the motor for loose or shorted terminals and/or worn insulation. Finally, ensure that you are using the correct fuses or circuit breakers for your power line, or switch the tool to an appropriately sized circuit.

      To prevent the workpiece from lifting up from the sanding disc/table when using the Wen sander, sand on the right side of the sanding disc as the operator faces the disc.

      To prevent the workpiece from frequently getting pulled out of your hands when using the Wen sander, support the workpiece against the stop using the platen (backstop) or miter gauge. If the workpiece is too small, use another hand tool or jig to grasp or hold it.

      If the Wen sander machine vibrates excessively, have a service technician inspect the motor mountings. Adjust the tension adjustment knob, following the belt-tensioning/tracking instructions. Have a service technician replace the tension spring if it is weak or broken and adjust the idler roller if it is too loose. Replace the sanding belt/disc if it is broken or defective.

      If the sanding grains on your Wen sander's belt or discs easily rub off, it may be because the sanding belt/disc has been stored in an incorrect environment or has been damaged or folded. Store sanding accessories away from extremely hot/dry temperatures and store sanding accessories flat—not bent or folded.

      If the Wen sander is leaving deep sanding grooves or scars on the workpiece, try using a finer-grit sanding accessory and always sand with the grain of the wood. Also, reduce the pressure on the workpiece while sanding and keep the workpiece moving while sanding on the sanding accessory.

      If your Wen sander stalls, resulting in blown fuses or a tripped circuit, inspect the motor connections for loose or shorted terminals or worn insulation. Also, ensure that you have the correct fuses or circuit breakers installed, or plug the tool into an appropriate circuit matched to the fuse or breaker. Reduce the load on the motor. Check for low voltage conditions, such as an improper extension cord length or gauge and correct them.
