      There are a few reasons why the jaws of your Westco Plumbing Product might fail to grip tubing. It could be due to dull dies, so replace or clean with a wire brush. Another reason may be a worn brake band, so replace it.

      There are a couple of reasons why your Westco Plumbing Product tong might fail to shift or be difficult to shift. The shifting mechanism might be worn, so replace it. Also, shifting might be attempted at too high an R.P.M., so shift at a lower R.P.M. or after a momentary stop, and shift with the rotor opening at the rear of the tong.
