Do
not
use

clear
dirt
and
grease
from the intcmal
components.
DISASSEMBLY
1.
Remove the starter motor.

fabricated tools will aide
the
service technician in the
removal
and
installation
of
the
AC
Generator.
3.
Install
the lifting eye tool
ltl
the
threaded
bosses
localcd
under
the control box and
use
tlus
to
support
the weight
of the
AC
generator end.
4. Unbolt the generator housing from the engine (8 bolts).

Using the Housing Puller Tool attached
to
the
end
bearing
support

Carefully
drdw
the

housing
off
the
rotor.
supporting
the
housing
weight
with the lifting eye.
The
rear support bearing may l't'.ly
on
the
rotor shaft
or
be
withdrawn

the

the puller and install the Pilot
Tool
and continue
to
remove
the
housing off the rotor. Take care not
to
drag

housing rernowd, support the rotor
assembly with a sling and unbolt
it
with
cooling fan from
the
fl
ywhecl.
Inspect
and
check all generator winding
component-.

con~cctions.
Repair
as
needed. Inspect the rear rotor carrier
beanng
and
repface

needed.
RESASSEMBLY
1.
Reassemble carefully
in
the
reverse order.
Utili:t.c
the
Disk
Alignment
Tool
to properly locate
the
rotor/drive
discs
to
the flywheel.
