Why is there frost on the propane tank of my Westinghouse WGen9500DF?
    • D
      Dale NelsonSep 4, 2025
Frost on the propane tank or regulator of your Westinghouse Portable Generator can occur if the tank temperature drops below the dew point, especially in humid conditions. If the propane fuel handling equipment is functioning normally, no correction is needed. If you suspect your propane fuel tank is not equipped with an OverĀ filling Prevention Device (OPD), discontinue operation immediately and replace the propane fuel tank with a propane tank equipped with an OPD. If you suspect your propane fuel tank has been overfilled, discontinue operation immediately and return the propane fuel tank to the place of purchase or refilling.

    • J
      Jessica SaundersSep 18, 2025
If there is no power at the AC receptacles of your Westinghouse Portable Generator, check the AC loads and reset the circuit breaker(s). Also, a faulty power tool or appliance can be the reason, so replace or repair the tool or appliance, then stop and restart the engine.

What causes poor performance or engine stalling on Propane in my Westinghouse WGen9500DF Portable Generator?
    • D
      danny06Sep 14, 2025
Poor performance or engine stalling on propane can be caused by a kinked or crushed propane fuel line (inspect and remove any obstructions), a fuel selector valve not properly positioned (rotate the valve fully until it aligns with the desired fuel), or gasoline not purged from the carburetor before switching to propane (close the propane tank valve, switch to gas, run the engine until the gasoline is consumed, then begin the propane start-up procedure).

Why is there frost on the propane tank or regulator of my Westinghouse WGen9500DF?
    • C
      cookjonathanSep 12, 2025
Frost on the propane tank or regulator can occur if the tank temperature drops below the dew point, especially in humid conditions; if all equipment is functioning normally, no action is needed. If you suspect your propane fuel tank is not equipped with an Overfilling Prevention Device (OPD), discontinue operation immediately and replace the propane fuel tank with a propane tank equipped with a an OPD. Also, if you suspect your propane fuel tank has been overfilled, discontinue operation immediately and return it to the place of purchase or refilling.

How to fix rough running or bogging of Westinghouse WGen9500DF Portable Generator engine when load applied?
    • R
      ronaldhernandezSep 12, 2025
If your Westinghouse Portable Generator runs rough or bogs when a load is applied, the likely causes are a dirty air filter (clean it), the generator being overloaded (unplug some devices), or a faulty power tool or appliance (replace or repair the tool or appliance, then stop and restart the engine).

What to do if my Westinghouse Portable Generator engine lacks power?
    • A
      Alicia VasquezSep 9, 2025
If your Westinghouse Portable Generator engine lacks power, it could be because the air filter is restricted (clean or replace it) or due to bad fuel (drain the fuel tank and refuel with fresh gasoline).

Why is there no power at the AC receptacles of my Westinghouse WGen9500DF Portable Generator?
    • D
      Devin CastilloSep 7, 2025
If there's no power at the AC receptacles, it could be due to several reasons. The OUTPUT READY LED might be OFF and the OVERLOAD LED might be ON (check the AC load, stop and restart the engine), AC circuit breaker/s might be tripped (check AC loads and reset the circuit breaker/s), or a faulty power tool or appliance might be connected (replace or repair the tool/appliance, then stop and restart the engine). Also check the air inlet, stop and restart the engine.

What to do if my Westinghouse WGen9500DF starts then shuts down?
    • M
      Martha CarrilloSep 5, 2025
If your Westinghouse Portable Generator starts and then shuts down, possible causes include: being out of fuel (refuel), incorrect engine oil level (check the level), a dirty air filter (clean it), or contaminated fuel (drain the tank and refuel with fresh gasoline).

Why won't my Westinghouse Portable Generator start?
    • J
      John WeberAug 21, 2025
There are several reasons why your Westinghouse Portable Generator might not start. It could be due to the battery switch being in the OFF position (turn it to ON), running out of fuel (refuel), bad fuel (drain and refuel with fresh gasoline), a dirty air filter (clean it), low engine oil level (add oil after turning the battery switch OFF), a wet spark plug (wait five minutes, turn the battery switch OFF, and pull the recoil handle rapidly, remove and dry spark plug if needed), a faulty spark plug (gap or replace it), or a drained battery (use the recoil handle to start). Also check the choke, manually set the choke if it is partially open or closed due to weak or disconnected battery.
