Why is there no hot water in my Whale S360EW Water Heater?
    • C
      Christopher ShermanJul 27, 2025
If your Whale Water Heater isn't producing hot water, start by checking the circuit breaker and replace it if necessary. Also, verify the thermomixer valve setting, adjusting it to between 40ºC (104ºF) and 55ºC (131ºF). Another potential cause is a cold water inlet valve that is incorrectly oriented; ensure the check valve has the correct orientation, if present. It's also possible that there's no water in the tank, so ensure to fill the tank with water.

What to do if the pressure relief valve (TMP/TMV) is leaking on my Whale S360EW Water Heater?
    • C
      Carrie SantosAug 4, 2025
If the pressure relief valve (TMP/TMV) on your Whale Water Heater is leaking, it might be due to initial use. In this case, open the valve and rerun the system to allow it to seal. However, a faulty or old valve can also cause leaks, requiring a valve replacement. Leaving the water heater constantly on can lead to deposit build-up on the valve seat, also necessitating a replacement. Furthermore, if the tank wasn't winterized, this could damage the valve, and it will need replacing. Finally, faulty electric thermostatic controls can also cause this issue, so have a marine electrician check the system.

Why does the high limit switch continually trip on my Whale S360EW?
    • G
      Gerald JonesAug 11, 2025
If the high limit switch on your Whale Water Heater continually trips, it could be due to insufficient water in the tank. Check that the non-return valve isn't blocked and fill the tank to its full capacity. Another reason could be the wrong breaker amperage, so check the fuse rating to ensure it matches the correct amperage and replace it if needed. A faulty element or heavy calcification in the water tank can also cause this issue; consider replacing the element or flushing and cleaning the tank regularly. Finally, faulty wiring could be the culprit, so have a marine electrician inspect the electric circuit.

What causes a Whale Water Heater tank to leak?
    • D
      Douglas JimenezAug 18, 2025
A Whale Water Heater tank might leak due to several reasons. Damage from improper service can cause leaks, requiring a replacement of the water heater. Electrolysis due to an absent or faulty galvanic isolator can also lead to leaks; in this case, replace the water heater and install a galvanic isolator. Similarly, if no anode is fitted to the tank, replace the water heater and fit an anode in the drain valve fitting. Corrosion or damage from improper winterization also necessitates a replacement, so ensure it is winterized in the future. Lastly, fittings not correctly attached can cause leaks, so check all connections to ensure they are water-tight.
