Function Description

The Whirlpool SS226 is a multi-functional appliance designed for dehumidifying, drying, and air purifying. Its core function is to remove excess moisture from the air, making it suitable for various environments and purposes, including drying clothes. The unit also incorporates an air purifying system with multiple filters and an ionizer to improve air quality.

Key functional aspects include:

Dehumidifying Mode: Reduces room humidity, with adjustable humidity settings (40-50%, 50-60%, 60-70%) or continuous operation. It features a low fan speed during this mode, and the ionizer is active.
Drying Mode (Laundry): Specifically designed for drying clothes quickly and efficiently, utilizing a high fan speed. The humidity cannot be set in this mode.
Air Cleaning Mode: Operates solely as an air purifier with a low fan speed and active ionizer, without dehumidification.
Internal Drying Function: After dehumidifying, a one-hour internal drying mode can be activated to dry the cooler inside the machine, inhibiting mildew growth.
Automatic Defrost: Ensures efficient dehumidifying even at lower temperatures (above 5°C) by automatically defrosting the unit.
Humidity Status Display: Provides a visual indication of room humidity using three corresponding colors: orange (above 60%), yellow (50-60%), and green (below 50%).
Timer Function: Allows users to set an auto-off timer for 2, 4, 8, or 12 hours, or to run continuously.
Louver Setting: Features a vertical louver with three range selections (75° upwards, 75° forwards, and 150° wide range) to direct the dried air to desired portions. The louver automatically closes when the unit is unplugged or shut down and turns upwards with horizontal blades turning forward upon re-plugging.

Usage Features

Portability: Compact design with a retractable handle for easy lifting and movement. Equipped with castors for mobility, though it's advised to lift the unit on uneven surfaces or thick-pile carpets to prevent damage.
Placement: Should be placed upright on a stable, flat surface, with specific clearances from walls (at least 5cm), furniture (at least 10cm), and laundry (at least 50cm). A gap of 5-10cm around the unit is recommended for proper ventilation.
Bucket Operation: The unit stops and illuminates a 'Full' indicator when the water bucket is full or improperly fitted. The bucket must be emptied and correctly re-inserted for continued operation. It's important not to remove the bucket too soon after operation to avoid dripping, and not to damage the float inside.
Continuous Draining: An option for continuous water drainage is available using a pipe with an inner diameter of 11.5-12mm. The pipe should be connected to the outlet nozzle at the back and positioned below the unit without kinks.
Initial Setup: Before first use, the 3-in-1 filter (catechin, deodor, charcoal) must be unpacked and installed into the filter frame at the back of the unit. The slide cover of the louver must be opened before operating.
Memory Function: The unit remembers previous operation settings (louver, timer, humidity, and function) after a power break, resuming them upon the next boot.
Storage: For long-term storage, it's recommended to run the internal drying function or air cleaning for at least an hour, then switch off, unplug, clean and dry the bucket, and close the slide cover or cover the unit to prevent dust accumulation. Store vertically in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Maintenance Features

Filter System:
- Nano-silver pre-filter: This filter can be washed and gently wiped clean. It should be checked and cleaned every two weeks to prevent dust accumulation, which can compromise airflow and unit performance.
- 3-in-1 filter (catechin, deodor, charcoal): This filter is not washable and should be replaced every 3 to 6 months. New filters can be obtained from the dealer.
General Cleaning:
- The unit should be switched off and unplugged before cleaning.
- Air intake and outlet should be cleaned with a soft cloth to remove accumulated dust.
- The surface can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth using only water or mild detergent, then wiped dry with a dry cloth.
- Important: Do not use petrol or solvents for cleaning, and never wash the unit with water directly.
Regular Inspection: For units used continuously or for long periods, regular inspection is advised to prevent overheating or short circuits. If the unit operates in the same position for some time, check for dirt underneath and around it, and periodically move the unit to clean the floor.
