How to fix a Whirlpool Water Filtration System that produces water too slowly?
    • R
      reyesstephenAug 13, 2025
If your Whirlpool Water Filtration System is producing water too slowly, it might be due to the water supply not meeting specifications; increase the water pressure, or precondition the water. Another cause might be that the prefilter or Reverse Osmosis membrane cartridges are plugged with sediment. To fix this, replace the prefilter cartridge. If the water production rate doesn't improve, replace the postfilter cartridge and the Reverse Osmosis membrane cartridge.

Why is my Whirlpool Water Filtration System producing less water than usual?
    • B
      Brian JacksonAug 17, 2025
If your Whirlpool Water Filtration System is producing less water than normal, the storage tank air-charge might be less than 5-7 psi. To fix this, open the Reverse Osmosis faucet and drain the tank until the flow slows to a drip. Keep the faucet open and check the tank pressure. If it's low, pressurize it to 6 psi, then close the faucet to allow the tank to refill.

What causes water to leak from the faucet air gap hole in a Whirlpool Water Filtration System?
    • T
      Thomas WatkinsAug 20, 2025
If water is leaking from the faucet air gap hole of your Whirlpool Water Filtration System, it's likely that the drain side of the faucet air gap (the 3/8” black tubing) is plugged, restricted, or incorrectly connected to the drain point. Inspect the tubing and eliminate any restrictions or plugs. Also, ensure the drain line is properly routed according to the installation instructions.

How to fix water leaks at push connect fittings in Whirlpool UltraEase WHER25?
    • J
      jasonvalenzuelaAug 25, 2025
If you're experiencing water leaks at the push connect fittings in your Whirlpool Water Filtration System, there are several possible causes: 1. The tubing might not be cut square, so cut the tubing square. 2. The tubing might not be pushed in all the way, so push the tubing in all the way. 3. The tubing might be nicked, so remove the tube, cut off the nicked portion to shorten the tube, and reinsert it. 4. The outer tubing surface finish might not be smooth, so remove the tube, cut off the problematic area to shorten the tube, and reinsert it. If removing the drain line, leave in place the fitting that it connects to.

Why does my Whirlpool Water Filtration System taste like chlorine?
    • P
      Pamela PhillipsAug 28, 2025
If your Whirlpool Water Filtration System's water tastes or smells like chlorine, it could be due to a couple of reasons. First, the chlorine level in your water supply might be too high (exceeding 2.0 ppm), which can damage the Reverse Osmosis membrane. If this is the case, you may need additional filtering. Contact your local water supplier to correct this before maintaining the system. Alternatively, the prefilter may no longer be effectively removing chlorine. To resolve this, replace the prefilter, postfilter, and Reverse Osmosis membrane cartridges.

What to do if my Whirlpool Water Filtration System has a bad taste or odor?
    • A
      andradepaigeSep 1, 2025
If your Whirlpool Water Filtration System has an unusual taste or odor, there are several potential causes. The postfilter or the Reverse Osmosis membrane cartridge might be expended, in this case replace the postfilter cartridge. If the issue persists, replace the prefilter cartridge and the Reverse Osmosis membrane cartridge. Another possibility is contamination in the product water storage tank, in which case you should sanitize it and replace the prefilter and postfilter cartridges. In case of system contamination, sanitize the entire system.

Why is the TDS high in my Whirlpool Water Filtration System?
    • K
      Kenneth ScottSep 4, 2025
High total dissolved solids (TDS) in your Whirlpool Water Filtration System's product water can stem from a few issues. The water supply to the Reverse Osmosis system may not be within specifications, so you may need to increase water pressure or precondition the water. If this doesn't solve the problem, consider sending treated and untreated water samples to a water analysis lab for testing to determine system performance. If the TDS is still not within the system’s performance guidelines, replace the prefilter, post filter and RO membrane cartridges. A plugged drain flow control insert could also be the culprit, requiring replacement.

Why does my Whirlpool Water Filtration System have continual water flow to the drain with low or no water production?
    • M
      Matthew MartinSep 8, 2025
If your Whirlpool Water Filtration System has a continuous water flow to the drain but produces little to no water, the flow control insert in the drain port might be missing. Make sure the flow control insert is in place.
