What to do if there is chlorine taste or odor in Whirlpool RO product water?
    • P
      Peter LopezAug 13, 2025
If you notice a chlorine taste or odor in your Whirlpool RO product water, it could be due to a couple of reasons. The level of chlorine in your water supply might be too high, damaging the Reverse Osmosis membrane. If the water supply contains more than 2.0 ppm of chlorine, additional filtering of the water supply to the Reverse Osmosis is needed. Contact your local water supplier to correct this condition before maintenance. Alternatively, the prefilter may no longer be effectively reducing chlorine. In this case, replace the prefilter, postfilter, and Reverse Osmosis membrane cartridges.

What to do if my Whirlpool Water Filtration System has other taste or odor?
    • L
      Lori MillerAug 16, 2025
If your Whirlpool Water Filtration System has an unusual taste or odor, it could be due to several factors. The postfilter or Reverse Osmosis membrane cartridge might be expended, requiring you to replace the postfilter cartridge. If the taste and odor persist, replace the prefilter cartridge and Reverse Osmosis membrane cartridge. Another cause may be contamination in the product water storage tank. In this case, sanitize the system and replace the prefilter and postfilter cartridges. System contamination can also be the cause.

How to fix water leaks at push connect fittings in Whirlpool systems?
    • K
      Kevin AndersonAug 20, 2025
If you're experiencing water leaks at the push connect fittings in your Whirlpool system, there are several possible causes: * The tubing might not be cut square. Make sure to cut the tubing square. * The tubing might not be pushed in all the way. Ensure the tubing is fully inserted. * The tubing could be nicked. Remove the tube, cut off the damaged portion, and reinsert it. * The outer tubing surface might not be smooth. Remove the tube, cut off the problematic section, and reinsert it.

    Marilyn DickersonAug 25, 2025
Why does my Whirlpool Water Filtration System make product water too slowly?
    • A
      Alyssa WrightAug 25, 2025
Your Whirlpool Water Filtration System might be producing water slowly because the water supply to the system is not within the correct specifications or the prefilter or reverse osmosis membrane cartridges are clogged with sediment. Increase water pressure, precondition the water, etc., as needed. Replace the prefilter cartridge. If the rate does not increase, replace the postfilter cartridge and Reverse Osmosis membrane cartridge.

What causes high total dissolved solids (TDS) in Whirlpool product water?
    • C
      Caitlin SimmonsAug 27, 2025
High total dissolved solids (TDS) in your Whirlpool product water can be caused by a water supply to the Reverse Osmosis system that is not within specifications. Increase water pressure, precondition the water, etc., as needed. Also, a plugged drain flow control insert can be the cause.

    kathryn13Aug 31, 2025
What to do if Whirlpool Water Filtration System has continual water flow to drain?
    • J
      Jean WilliamsAug 31, 2025
If your Whirlpool Water Filtration System experiences continual water flow to the drain and low or no water production, it might be due to a missing flow control insert in the drain port. Make sure the flow control insert is in place.

How to fix water leaking from faucet airgap hole in Whirlpool systems?
    • K
      Katherine HoSep 4, 2025
If water is leaking from the faucet airgap hole in your Whirlpool system, the drain side of the faucet airgap (3/8” black tubing) might be plugged, restricted, or incorrectly connected to the drain point. Inspect and eliminate any restrictions or plugs. Check that the drain line is properly routed.

Why does the LED indicator light not work on my Whirlpool faucet after a battery change?
    • M
      Melissa WashingtonSep 8, 2025
