Why is my Whirlpool Water Filtration System producing less water than usual?
    • N
      nathan00Sep 4, 2025
If your Whirlpool Water Filtration System is producing less water than usual, the storage tank air-charge might be less than 5-7 psi. To fix this, open the Reverse Osmosis faucet and drain the tank until the flow slows to a drip. Keep the faucet open and check the tank pressure. If it's low, pressurize it to 6 psi, then close the faucet to refill the tank.

Why does my Whirlpool Water Filtration Systems continually flow water to drain with low production?
    • A
      alyssa63Sep 16, 2025
If your Whirlpool Water Filtration System has a continual water flow to the drain with little to no water production, it may be due to a missing flow control insert in the drain port. Ensure that the flow control insert is properly in place.

What to do if my Whirlpool Water Filtration Systems water has a strange taste or odor?
    • E
      Erik OconnellSep 12, 2025
If your Whirlpool Water Filtration System's water has an unusual taste or odor, it could be due to several reasons. The postfilter or the Reverse Osmosis membrane cartridge might be expended, requiring replacement of the postfilter cartridge. If the issue persists, replace the prefilter cartridge and Reverse Osmosis membrane cartridge. Another cause might be contamination in the product water storage tank, which can be resolved by using sanitizing procedures and replacing the prefilter and postfilter cartridges. In some cases, there may be system contamination, which requires sanitizing the entire system.

Why is there high total dissolved solids (TDS) in my Whirlpool Water Filtration Systems water?
    • C
      Christopher MorenoSep 12, 2025
Elevated total dissolved solids (TDS) in your Whirlpool Water Filtration System's product water may stem from your water supply falling outside the system's specifications. You may need to increase water pressure or precondition the water. Send both treated and untreated water samples to a water analysis lab for testing to determine system performance. If the TDS is not within the system’s performance guidelines, replace the prefilter, post filter and RO membrane cartridges. Another potential cause is a plugged drain flow control insert, which would require replacement.

Dr. Christopher Nelson MDSep 9, 2025
If the faucet LED indicator light on your Whirlpool Water Filtration System isn't working after a battery change, there are two possible reasons. Ronald CookeSep 7, 2025

Why is water leaking from the faucet airgap hole in my Whirlpool Water Filtration System?
    • E
      Evelyn CharlesSep 5, 2025
If water is leaking from the faucet airgap hole of your Whirlpool Water Filtration System, it's likely that the drain side of the faucet airgap (the 3/8” black tubing) is either plugged, restricted, or incorrectly connected to the drain point. Inspect the tubing and eliminate any restrictions or plugs. Also, check that the drain line is routed properly.

Why does my Whirlpool Water Filtration System water taste like chlorine?
    • M
      Melissa ParkerAug 20, 2025
If your Whirlpool Water Filtration System's water has a chlorine taste or odor, it could be due to two reasons. First, the chlorine level in your water supply might be too high (exceeding 2.0 ppm), damaging the Reverse Osmosis membrane. In this case, you should contact your local water supplier to filter the water supply before it reaches the Reverse Osmosis system. Second, the prefilter may no longer be effectively reducing chlorine. If this is the case, replace the prefilter, postfilter, and Reverse Osmosis membrane cartridges.
