Why does my Whynter RPD-702WP run too much?
    • T
      tonya80Aug 1, 2025
If your Whynter Dehumidifier is running excessively, first ensure that all windows and doors near the unit are closed. The area you're trying to dehumidify might be too large, requiring an additional dehumidifier. Check if air movement through the dehumidifier is blocked, and clean the air filter if the air grill is dirty. Also, verify that continuous mode is not activated; set the desired RH% level, and the appliance will automatically stop once that level is reached.

What to do if my Whynter Dehumidifier runs but the room is not dry enough?
    • W
      wfrenchAug 7, 2025
If your Whynter Dehumidifier is running but the room isn't dry enough, the humidity setting (RH%) might be too high. Try setting the humidity level to a lower RH%, ideally at least 10% lower than the current RH%. Also, make sure the dehumidifier has at least 10 inches of clearance for proper ventilation. Keep in mind that the appliance won't operate effectively if the room temperature is below 53°F (12°C). Finally, ensure that all windows and doors are closed.

Why does frost appear on the coils above the bucket in my Whynter RPD-702WP?
    • M
      mario01Aug 13, 2025
If you notice frost appearing on the coils above the bucket in your Whynter Dehumidifier, this could be normal if the unit has been turned on recently. It's due to refrigerant rushing through the coil and should disappear within 60 minutes. However, if the room temperature is too low (below 53°F (11°C)), the appliance will not operate satisfactorily.

If your Whynter Dehumidifier isn't turning on, there are several potential causes. First, check for a power failure or outage and restore the power supply. If that's not the issue, the automatic switch, line fuse, or breaker might have tripped; flip the switch, change the fuse, or turn the breaker back on. Also consider whether too many appliances are drawing power on one circuit, and move other appliances to another circuit if necessary. A damaged power cord could also be the culprit, in which case you should call for service, as only authorized personnel should replace damaged power cords or plugs. Alternatively, the dryness level you selected may have been reached; set the timer to “00” to run the appliance continuously if you want to remove more moisture. Finally, ensure the water buck...
