What to do if Williams Furnace operates but turns off too soon?
    • R
      Robert DoughertyAug 21, 2025
If your Williams Furnace turns off before the room reaches the set temperature, here's what you can check: * Examine the thermostat's location. It shouldn't be near warm air from the furnace, a lamp, or above a TV or stereo. * The thermostat itself might be defective. Check its calibration or consider replacing it.

Why Williams 3509622 Furnace not producing sufficient heat?
    • D
      Dylan JohnstonAug 25, 2025
If your Williams Furnace isn't producing enough heat, here are a couple of things to investigate: * The furnace might be too small for the space you're trying to heat. Review the heat sizing calculations to ensure it's adequate. * The furnace may not be burning at its full rate. Check the gas pressure at the gas valve. It should be 4 inches water column for natural gas or 10 inches water column for L.P.G. Also, check for any blockages in the burner orifices.

Why Williams Furnace pilot light keeps going out?
    • J
      janice03Aug 27, 2025
If you are experiencing pilot outages with your Williams Furnace, here are some things to consider: * The pilot flame may be too low or too high. Adjust the pilot flame accordingly. The pilot orifice might also be plugged, so check for spider webs or other obstructions. * Drafts or drafty areas can also cause pilot outages. Check for drafts in doorways and high-movement areas.

How to fix Williams 3509622 Furnace that won't shut off?
    • W
      William BartonSep 3, 2025
If your Williams Furnace keeps running even after the room reaches the set temperature, consider these possibilities: * Defective thermostat wiring could be the cause. Look for shorted thermostat lead wires, possibly caused by a nail or staple. Remove the thermostat leads from the valve terminals to check. * The thermostat's location might be the problem. If it's on an outside wall or there's a hole behind it, cold air could be affecting its reading. Try relocating it. * The thermostat itself could be defective. Check its calibration, verify its temperature reading, or replace it. * The valve might be stuck open. In this case, replace the valve.

    • S
      Shelby MckenzieSep 6, 2025
If your Williams Furnace blower is making excessive noise, try the following: * Check for a rattling housing and tighten the blower screws. * A dirty blower can cause noise. Clean the blower wheel. * If the blower wheel is bent, try to straighten it or replace it if necessary.

Why Williams 3509622 Furnace pilot will not stay lit?
    • J
      Jason DoyleNov 13, 2025
The pilot light on your Williams Furnace might not stay lit due to several reasons: * The generator may not be producing enough millivolts. Ensure the pilot flame is directly hitting the generator. * The generator connections at the gas valve might be loose or dirty. Try cleaning and tightening these connections. * The generator itself could be defective. Use a millivolt meter to check the reading at the generator terminals with the valve in the 'Pilot' position. Disconnect the thermostat wires first. A reading of 450 millivolts or higher is needed. * A grounded thermostat wire could be the issue. Disconnect the thermostat wires from the valve terminals. If the pilot stays lit, trace the thermostat wiring for any grounds, such as contact with the furnace, gas supply, nails, or sta...

What to do if Williams 3509622 has no gas to the main burner?
    • R
      ronald66Nov 16, 2025
If there's no gas reaching the main burner of your Williams Furnace, consider the following: * Ensure the gas valve is turned to the 'ON' position after lighting the pilot. * Verify that the thermostat is set to a temperature that calls for heat. * The furnace orifice might be plugged. Inspect, clean, or replace it if necessary. * Check the thermostat wires for proper connections at the valve terminals. If the valve operates, inspect the thermostat wires themselves. A defective thermostat can also cause this issue. * The pilot generator might not be generating enough millivolts to open the valve. Refer to solutions 1a and 1c for troubleshooting the pilot. * The gas valve could be defective. Replace it after verifying the above steps. * The vent safety switch may have tripped...

Why Williams 3509622 main burner will not stay on?
    • E
      Emily StewartDec 1, 2025
If the main burner on your Williams Furnace won't stay on, consider the following: * Check the vent pipe for any blockages like bird nests, twigs, or leaves. Also, ensure the vent cap is correctly installed and not placed too far down on the vent pipe. The cap should be from the same manufacturer as the vent. * The vent might be too short. It should extend at least 12 feet above the floor plate, with the top being at least 2 feet above any obstacle within a 10-foot radius, including the roof. * Restrictions in the vent system caused by offsets can be a problem. Type “B” vents should extend vertically with offsets not exceeding 45 degrees. Any angle greater than 45 degrees is considered horizontal. Offsets should be at least 2 feet above the draft hood or as far away as possible. Too...
