HYDRAULIC POWER SUPPLYHYDRAULIC POWER SUPPLY
The WoodMaxx WM-series backhoe can be powered by either a self-contained
hydraulic pump and tank, or directly from the hydraulic remotes of your tractor.
PTO Pump (standard equipment)
A self-contained hydraulic system that contains an oil reservoir, one piece gear pump,
and hoses. The speed at which the backhoe operates is in ratio to the speed of the
PTO. The higher the PTO RPM, the faster the backhoe will operate. Use a moderate
engine speed to start and increase it as your experience permits.
Hydraulic Remotes (optional)
WM- series backhoes can be powered by the hydraulics directly from your tractor. If
you choose this option, you must have oil ow of no less than 5.54 GPM for the WM-
8600 and 4.57 GPM for the WM-6600/7600 and a system that will put out at least 16
MPA (2320 PSI) This option will include a pressure compensation ow control valve
that allow for the adjustment of the oil ow and pressure for tractors that put out up to
16 GPM. The speed at which the backhoe operates is related to the ow and pressure
output of your tractor and the adjusted ow that is regulated by you at the pressure
compensation valve. (see page 54 of this manual for plumbing diagram) Start by
closing the valve completely (rotate valve clockwise) and then back off the valve 1
turn, adjust engine speed to medium, then adjust the valve to allow for moderate
speed to begin and increase engine speed and readjust the valve as your experience
permits. (Note - the supply/ return hose is equipped with ½-14 NPTF, you will be
required to provide the corresponding ttings necessary to connect to your tractor)
